Full Job Description
We seek a dynamic, motivated and organized Hub Manager to join Earthjustice's Clean Energy Program, directly supporting the Director of Emerging Issues and staff across the organization who are engaging in issues of load growth. The Hub Manager will support projects, streamline and implement processes, manage workflows and information, and move initiatives along. The role will set agendas, convene stakeholders, facilitate meetings, keep minutes and report out decisions and follow up tasks.

This position requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, as well as high attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

This position is term limited to two years. The Hub Manager is expected to work a full-time (37.5 hours/week) schedule, and will work a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 1 day in-office per week in our New York office. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities:

Operational Improvements and Project Coordination - 40%
  • Coordinate closely with with the Director of Emerging Issues and a core team of staff working on load growth issues to project manage and implement cross-team initiatives, ensuring deadlines are met, deliverables built and outcomes achieved.
  • Support the coordination of legal and non-legal staff throughout Earthjustice across offices connected to this body of work. Maximize effectiveness and organizational alignment by mapping workflows, identifying bottlenecks, establishing shared work plans, measuring progress, and communicating objectives and key results.
  • Help coordinate the day-to-day functioning of the group, set agendas, design, and drive team processes, run effective meetings, and work with staff to ensure informed, transparent, and timely decision-making. Serve as point of contact for scheduling working group meetings, events, and video/conference calls.
  • Assess and refine operational systems and processes to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and adherence to organizational standards and best practices.

Collaboration, Communications and Change Management - 40%
  • Maintain, curate, and lead operational improvements in internal communications spaces and resource-sharing platforms to foster collaboration and cooperation across teams.
  • Work collaboratively across Earthjustice to ensure clear, timely communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver clear, concise project communications for legal and non-legal staff.
  • Adept at change management; ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances.
  • Use excellent interpersonal skills and good judgment about people and situations; demonstrate high emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrate an awareness and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds and orientations.
  • Contribute to the creation of a diverse, equitable and inclusive work culture that encourages and celebrates differences.

Other Duties - 20%
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned in support of organizational priorities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of direct experience managing projects and/or operations for teams
  • Excellent organization and project management skills. Demonstrated experience in operations and administration, including streamlining processes and implementing new systems. Ability to prioritize, manage, and complete multiple complex tasks despite time pressure and unexpected challenges.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team-oriented atmosphere.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with project management and communications tools as well as traditional legal office software. Able to learn new technologies and software.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification a plus.
  • Commitment to serving the public interest and a passion for the role of Earthjustice and its mission.
  • Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and orientations.


  • An ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to:
  • Prioritize, manage, and complete multiple complex tasks despite time pressure and unexpected challenges.
  • Work comfortably or be willing to learn a range of technology and software programs, including Teams, Office 360, the Microsoft Office suite, ADP, Concur and Zoom. Have an openness to learn and manage new programs and systems to improve the team's outcomes.
  • Organize and motivate stakeholders, partners, managers and staff to complete project tasks without having direct authority over them.
  • Exercise excellent judgement and handle confidential and/or sensitive issues and information tactfully, discreetly, and diplomatically.
  • Think strategically, anticipate challenges, envision growth, reflect thoughtfully, and embrace change.

Salary in New York City: $113,000-$125,500
