Job DescriptionPosition Description:Our people's division is growing, and we are looking for an Open Pit Maintenance Superintendent for our Turquoise Ridge operation. The Open Pit Maintenance Superintendent will lead a team to ensure that all maintenance activities are planned or evaluated and properly executed in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:- Lead, supervise, and develop a team of maintenance supervisors, planners, mechanics, electricians, welders, and other tradespeople. Conduct performance evaluations, training, coaching, and succession planning.
- Champion a strong safety culture. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with standards, policies, and environmental requirements. Lead safety meetings, risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits.
- Demonstrate and promote NGM's DNA values to support a positive work culture
- Oversee planned and unplanned maintenance for a fleet of surface mining equipment
- Develop, implement, and improve on robust preventive/predictive maintenance programs
- Manage work orders, scheduling, and priorities to optimize equipment availability to support mining activities.
- Ensure coordination with operations, planning, and supply chain teams to minimize production disruptions
- Track maintenance KPIs and implement improvements as needed to achieve performance targets.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:- 7+ years in heavy equipment maintenance, with significant time in surface mining or large scale industrial operations required.
- 3-5 years of experience working in maintenance supervisory roles demonstrating increasing responsibility required.
- A technical diploma, degree in mechanical engineering, mining, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surface mining equipment (Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, etc.), hydraulics, engines, electrical systems, and welding preferred.
- Experience with budgeting and creation of maintenance management systems preferred.
- Demonstrate aptitude for using Microsoft Office, budgeting and tracking software such as oracle or SAP, and dispatch systems required.
- Excellent leadership skills required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Willingness to work with cross functional teams required
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with maintenance technicians, planners and other site personnel required
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required
