Project Overview:

The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is driving unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed the EPC contract for the Cheyenne Power Hub Project, one of the largest gas-fired power generation facilities in the United States.

The candidate will act as the Turnover Coordinator for the Switchyard Area on the Cheyenne Power Hub CCGT Project in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Job Summary:

The Turnover Coordinator is responsible for system and area completion and turnover activities within the Switchyard Area, from construction through handover to Startup and the customer. You will scope and build turnover packages, schedule and lead system and area walkdowns, own the punch list through to closure, and coordinate with Construction, Quality, Startup, and the customer to meet turnover milestones. You will also provide field engineering support to the Switchyard scope and technical administration of assigned subcontracts.#LI-RM1

Major Responsibilities:

System and Area Turnove
  • Develops a firm understanding of system and area scoping and the drawings required for package development within the Switchyard Area.
  • Builds system and area turnover packages, both digitally and physically, for turnover to Startup and the customer.
  • Schedules and leads system and area walkdowns, coordinating with construction, startup, and the customer as applicable.
  • Scribes punch list items arising on walkdowns, inputs them into the punch list tracking system, and maintains that system through to closure.
  • Leverages turnover and punch list data to create reporting that supports strategy development and decision making.
  • Coordinates with construction management on turnover priorities and strategies, and for subcontracted work schedules walkdowns, validates the punch list, ensures inspection records are completed and submitted, and coordinates with direct hire supervision.

Subcontract Coordination
  • Reviews and approves inspection test plans and coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.
  • Monitors subcontractor field activities and budget, develops daily reports of progress and performance, and reviews and approves subcontractor invoices.
  • Processes change orders, requests for information, and field change documentation, and provides technical administration and supervision of assigned subcontracts.


Major Responsibilities(Contd.):

Safety / Quality Control
  • Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to in the operational area, and that work methods are planned and executed safely.
  • Verifies material quality and workmanship and assures results meet quality requirements based on codes, specifications, and design drawings.
  • Prepares and performs inspections, test plans and test procedures, prepares inspection reports for the assigned scope, and prepares and closes non-conformance reports.
  • Reviews project design and engineering documents and model data to ensure completeness and readiness for safe construction, and ensures compliance with contract documents.

Technical
  • Interfaces with construction engineers, discipline superintendents, foremen, and craft professionals in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
  • Coordinates engineering solutions with subcontractors, superintendents, and foremen, and coordinates with design on constructability issues.
  • Conducts tests on equipment, supports and prepares construction test plans and records, and inspects and records installed components for technical acceptance.
  • Ensures compliance with industry and international codes and standards and leverages applicable automation and completion management systems.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Maintain, promote, and cultivate a safe work ethic and work environment within the craft.
  • Knowledge of mechanical completion, system completion, and turnover processes, and of commissioning and startup interfaces.
  • Experience building and maintaining turnover packages, punch lists, and inspection records using completion management or turnover tracking systems.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications, with excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
  • Able to walk the jobsite on uneven surfaces, climb ladders and scaffolding, and use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
  • Able to work extended schedules and night shift as required to support project execution plans.

Preferred Knowledge & Skills
  • Previous Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) or Simple Cycle project experience.
  • Switchyard, high voltage, or electrical systems turnover experience.
  • Experience with construction automation and turnover tracking systems on large EPC projects.
