OverviewPosition Summary
Provide turnaround planning and scheduling expertise for a chemical facility.
Responsibilities
Responsible for coordinating day to day activities with the project engineering and construction team.
Responsible for initial development of pre-FID engineering, procurement and construction schedules through full integration of engineering, procurement and field executable construction schedules.
Responsible for providing assurance on schedules submitted by contractors according to the client project guidelines.
Responsible for analyzing schedule logic, activity durations, constraints, float, resource loading, critical path(s) and leveling resources as needed to support project constraints.
Responsible for producing schedule deliverables package appropriate for the project stage gate.
Responsible for ensuring engineering contractors meet monthly deadlines in accordance to the Shell project guidelines.
Responsible for producing project management reports that effectively communicate project performance, concerns and other indicators of schedule performance.
Responsible for participating in schedule risk workshops to establish schedule contingency.
Responsible for applying, monitoring and reporting schedule contingency.
Responsible for updating and aligning project codes, activity codes and WBS.
Responsible for monitoring and recording approved schedule changes.
Support development of the scheduling KPIs.
Participate in IPA benchmarking and other site audits as needed.
Responsible for managing stage gate baselines.
Responsible for aligning all stakeholders during development of engineering, procurement and construction schedules; including integration with construction management and TAR representatives.
Assist in developing and maintaining a historical database of scheduling activities, durations and overall cycle times.
Mainly interface with the Project Engineers, Construction Field Coordinators, Construction Supervisors, Schedulers, Estimators, and EPC team.
Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of portfolio planning/scheduling practices and integration of turnaround events.
Advanced knowledge of work breakdown structure alignment and integration with multiple files.
Strong ability to leverage from prior project knowledge to build conceptual schedules.
Experience in earned value management and the ability to audit / validate both engineering and construction progress.
Advanced knowledge of schedule assurance practices and supporting software tools.
The ability to manage multiple schedules from various contractors.
Experienced in leading interactive planning sessions for construction and engineering plans.
Experience developing schedule basis and supporting documentation.
Advanced knowledge in workface/work package planning strategies from engineering to construction.
Initiative-taking and skilled at collaborating with team members face to face and virtually.
Sound understanding HSE risks related to construction.
Comprehensive understanding of construction techniques and practices.
Advanced conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills towards the generation of solutions and sound decisions in relation to portfolio planning and analysis.
Skill level competence in project scheduling processes is highly desirable.
Prior experience with Projects is required.
Prior experience with Turnarounds.
Prior experience in various roles within an oil refining / petrochemical manufacturing environment is a plus.
Hands on experience supporting a portfolio of projects.
Must have active TWIC card.
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.
Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
