Truck Parts Sales Representative (Outside Sales) - Sacramento, CA (field-based)

Compensation: $83,000 - $90,000 Annually Plus Commission

About the Job

The Truck Parts Sales Representative is responsible for generating revenue by meeting customers face-to-face rather than working primarily from an office. Their main objective is to identify new business opportunities, build customer relationships, and close sales within their assigned territory.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers throughout the assigned territory.
  • Identify prospective customers through networking, referrals, cold calling, and other business development activities.
  • Visit customer locations, job sites, and businesses to assess their needs and recommend products and services that provide value.
  • Conduct professional sales presentations, product demonstrations, and consultations tailored to customer requirements.
  • Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing in line with company guidelines, and close sales opportunities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding customers' operations, challenges, and business goals.
  • Maintain consistent communication with customers to ensure satisfaction, encourage repeat business, and identify additional sales opportunities.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and provide timely follow-up on quotes, orders, and service requests.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and pipeline information using the company's CRM system.
  • Develop and execute territory sales plans to increase market share and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
  • Stay informed about company products, industry developments, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Prepare sales updates, forecasts, and other reports as requested by management.
  • Uphold the company's commitment to outstanding customer service, professionalism, and ethical business practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in outside sales, business development, or customer relationship management preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck tires and commercial truck parts.
  • Experience in selling heavy-duty truck tires and commercial truck parts.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple customer accounts and priorities.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and CRM software.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in commercial trucking, transportation, fleet services, heavy equipment, industrial products, automotive, tires, or other business-to-business sales environments is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
  • Ability to visit customer facilities, warehouses, and job sites.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry sales materials or product samples.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
