  • Oversee the accurate development of cost reports.
  • Prepare project-specific budgets according to standards.
  • Lead risk workshops for identification and quantification activities.
  • Conduct training sessions and facilitate related workshops.

  • Salary Range: 105,000-160,200 annually (salary range is based on market data; final salary offered is determined by education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.)


Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide non-routine cost engineering/planning and scheduling needs to projects. You will establish stakeholder relationships, conduct schedule analysis and integrate activities, identify restraints, quantify risks, monitor cost and performance, recommend alternatives, and deliver training sessions and workshops. Your activities will synthesize project components into seamless execution. #LI-BH1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates non-routine cost engineering/planning and scheduling needs to projects
  • Coordinates with all departments to ensure understanding of total project schedule needs
  • Conducts project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule activities
  • Collects and analyzes alternatives for schedule improvement
  • Assists, when requested, in the development and review of schedule recovery plans, including evaluation of additional resources/costs required to affect such plans
  • Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports
  • Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
  • Leads risk workshops, interviews and information gathering as it relates to risk identification, review, and update
  • Carries out risk quantification activities as required
  • Delivers training sessions and facilitates workshops


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive experience in implementing change management process and tools, performing cost trend estimates in support of project cost trend programs, and their interface with schedule and cost systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral/written) with ability to understand and interpret technical and non-technical scope impacts for trend and baseline change documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience in executing, monitoring, and evaluating cost engineering activities, including cost estimates, cost control, and cost analysis.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial reporting systems and controller account codes, as well as a solid understanding of relevant Controller instructions that affect Project Controls
  • Competent in engineering, procurement, contracting, construction, and startup processes, in accordance with Bechtel's operational standards.
  • Experience reviewing designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggests alternatives when appropriate.
  • Experience with preparation of cost studies utilizing historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons.
  • Develops innovative new techniques to meet specific needs, as required.
