Position Title: Treasury Manager

Department: Accounting

Reports To: Vice-President Controller

Supervises: None

Overview

The Treasury Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the company's cash management, rolling liquidity forecasting, and vendor payment operations. This position leads all aspects of the Accounts Payable function, drives process improvements, and develops a dynamic rolling cash flow forecast to support strategic decision-making and optimize working capital.

A key focus of this role will be to lead the implementation of accounts payable automation, partnering closely with Accounting leadership, IT, and third-party providers to ensure a successful rollout that enhances efficiency, strengthens internal controls, and standardizes processes across the organization.

The Treasury Manager will also build and maintain strong relationships with the company's banking partners and train, mentor, and develop a distributed Accounts Payable team to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Management & Rolling Forecast
• Develop and maintain a rolling cash flow forecast, integrating AP cycles, expected receipts, capital expenditures, debt payments, and other cash needs to ensure proactive liquidity planning.
• Monitor daily cash positioning, coordinate fund transfers, and work closely with banking partners to optimize liquidity and ensure compliance with treasury policies and debt covenants.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, and Operations teams to align cash projections with evolving business plans and seasonal trends.

Banking & Treasury Operations
• Serve as the primary liaison with the company's banking partners, managing day-to-day treasury activities, facilitating funding needs, and supporting treasury-related compliance and reporting.
• Evaluate and recommend strategies to improve cash utilization and minimize borrowing costs.

Accounts Payable Leadership
• Oversee all aspects of the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments across multiple entities.
• Review and approve employee expense submissions through Concur to ensure alignment with company travel and entertainment policies.
• Set up and manage month-end accruals for AP, ensuring the subledger and general ledger are aligned for a timely close.
• Prepare annual 1099 filings and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Payables Automation Implementation
• Lead the implementation of an accounts payable automation solution, working with software vendors, IT teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration with existing systems (e.g., NetSuite).
• Design, document, and roll out new standardized AP processes, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and strengthened internal controls.
• Serve as the project owner, driving change management and user adoption across the organization.

Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Accounts Payable Coordinators, fostering accountability, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Provide training and support to team members and remote stakeholders on AP policies, automation tools, and compliance requirements.

Vendor & Internal Partnerships
• Build strong relationships with key vendors and internal partners, managing escalated issues and ensuring exceptional service levels.
• Oversee periodic check runs, approve payment batches, and ensure cash disbursements align with the company's overall cash flow strategy.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required.
• 5-7 years of progressive Accounts Payable and treasury or cash management experience, ideally in a multi-entity or multi-location environment.
• At least 2+ years managing an Accounts Payable team, with demonstrated success driving process improvements.
• Experience developing and maintaining rolling cash flow forecasts, managing daily liquidity, and working directly with banking partners.
• Prior involvement in implementing or leading significant process improvement initiatives (payables automation implementation experience highly valued).
• Strong ERP experience (NetSuite or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the business and drive change.
• High energy, proactive mindset, and eager to make a meaningful impact on the organization's financial operations.
