Full Job Description
Summary

Superintendents manage the construction jobsite and physical execution of work by the subcontractors/trades. An Assistant Superintendent supports other Superintendents in their responsibilities. They may also be assigned to manage some minor subcontractors/trades.

The annual salary range is $68,700 - $92,900

The initial location is Fort Bragg, NC. In this traveling role, the work location will change as project assignments change.

Responsibilities & Duties

The following statements summarize the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this role. It is not an exhaustive list.
  • Maintain a robust understanding of all safety requirements and help drive a strong safety culture. Holds subcontractors/trades accountable and helps them perform safely through pre-task planning. Diligently monitor construction site activities and conditions, taking immediate corrective actions to any non-compliant work.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the project's plans, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, and all other project-related documents. Notify the manager of any current non-compliance.
  • Clearly communicate the sequence and schedule updates to subcontractors and vendors. Monitor work is progressing in compliance with the schedule and agreements, notifying the manager of any non-compliance. Communicate field updates of construction progress.
  • Monitor resources (including manpower, materials, and temporary works) daily against the project plan.
  • Monitor the project site logistics plan. Coordinate material deliveries and movement of equipment on the site to ensure safe and efficient work.
  • Understand quality expectations and consistently test the quality of work in progress to minimize rework.
  • Help ensure accurate construction documents are maintained, including a complete and accurate set of as-builts.


Background and Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in the field/construction jobsite supervising work.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand specifications.
  • Share in the company's unwavering commitment to being Incident and Injury Free, knowledgeable of OSHA requirements, and current OSHA 10-hour certification.
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Productive interpersonal and conflict resolution skills while under pressure.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Skilled in working with scheduling software (ex. Microsoft Project, Primavera) and/or project documentation tracking systems (ex. Procore, Prolog) is preferred.
  • College degree or equivalent experience.
