Job Summary and QualificationsCoordinate Trauma Administration events including Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Rural Trauma Team Development Course (RTTDC), Trauma Survivor Day, and other Trauma Administration sponsored events with little supervision. Coordinate monthly trauma CME events and track CME and nursing as required for state and national trauma center verification. Serve as liaison to revenue staff and assure the proper collection of documents and information needed to assure accuracy of trauma related charges. Responsible for the development, coordination, and management of educational projects that will enhance HealthONE Swedish Medical Center Trauma Program. These projects shall encompass, but not be limited to community, and outreach programs relating to Trauma Services. Responsible for development and coordination of prevention programs, specific outreach educational offerings, development of non-HealthONE education programs, and management and coordination of scheduled conferences. Participates in the business plan and marketing plan for Trauma program including outreach activities. Identify strategic opportunities to schedule and coordinate site visits to rural communities and coordinates educational programs. Represents SMC at conferences and other vendor sites as appropriate. Cultivates and maintains relationships with physicians and facilities. Monitors and coordinates the Guest Service Plans. Ensure department logs, physician call schedules, and invoices are processed. Other duties as assigned. Will work in concert with the AVP Trauma Services Continental Division. The Trauma Coordinator will assist with advancing the virtual experience of the trauma center site visit logistics and establish strong relationships with the trauma teams as they prepare for trauma verification/designation site visits.
Position Requirements: Trauma Coordinator
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: None
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field required. College level course-work in medical terminology and anatomy and physiology OR on-the-job training in medical terminology and anatomy and physiology. ATLS course coordinator or similar experience providing education such as ACLS, TNCC, EMS education or similar experience preferred.
- Experience:
Experience coordinating similar education or continuing medical education preferred. Familiarity with the delivery of health care preferred.
- Degree of Supervision Required:
Minimal supervision: Individual proceeds on own initiative in compliance with policies, procedures, and practices prescribed by Trauma Administration and immediate supervisor. Works closely with the Trauma Medical Director and the administrative staff.
- Orientation Period: Minimum of 2 weeks supervision contingent upon experience. Extensive orientation may be required and will be determined by Department Director/designee.
