Job OverviewResponsibilities • Coordinate and monitor the timely delivery of main components and fixtures to/from Vestas sites. Communicates with customers and internal/external stakeholders regarding delivery changes pertinent to the shipping/receiving locations
• Coordination of vessel port handling operations at origin and destination as needed
• Coordination of railroad and railhead handling operations at destination as needed
• Stay current with DOT regulations, international shipping requirements, and to act as a liaison with customs and trade team
• Create necessary PR's in SAP and follow PO creation to ensure timely execution
• Freight audit and payment of vendor/carrier invoices and monitor the timely payment of vendor/carrier
• Ensure transport quality. Troubleshoot and support problem-solving of delivery and transport quality issues; File claims against carriers, when applicable, and support claim resolution
• P&L responsibility; manage 8 figure transportation budget
• Follow and ensure following of Vestas transport processes and standards, including the correct usage of our Transport Management System (ITM)
• Know and understand Vestas non-conforming (NCR) process; provide backup coverage for department NCR functions
• Know and understand transportation SAP processes; provide backup coverage for SAP transportation functions
Competencies • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams, SAP and additional software programs
• Financial understanding
• Ability to communicate orally and written in English
• Ability to work flexible hours and with variety of cultures (coordinating with various time zones)
• Problem solving skills
• Regular and punctual attendance
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, International Business, Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
• 5 or more years of experience in transportation
• Good computer skills including proficiency in MS Office Suite, SAP desired
• Knowledge of TMS systems (ITM) desired
• Transportation project management experience desired
Well-developed oral and written skills.
• Attention to detail
• Knowledge of truck and container movements required
• Knowledge of international cargo moves, both intermodal, vessel, and trucking
• Experience with loading and unloading activities at US ports.
• Ability to self-manage as well as coordinate efforts of cross-functional teams
