Dewberry is currently seeking a Transportation Project Engineer in our Denver, CO office to support our strategic growth initiative within the transportation market sector. This opportunity will provide the ideal candidate with an exceptional opportunity for expedited growth and to play a critical roll in ALL transportation efforts in the Colorado market.

The successful candidate will possess market intelligence that can be leveraged for new client/project opportunities. within a growing department. This position will work on all phases of Transportation Projects for a variety of public sector clients. Transportation projects will include horizontal and vertical road alignments, drainage systems, storm water management, utility relocations and preparation of contract documents. This position may also engage Dewberry’s California market which is the Western Region’s hub for transportation. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with a strong drive to utilize existing market knowledge to grow within a local a production team, and become an internal task leader of the growth initiative.

Responsibilities

The position requires 5+ years of leadership experience in the planning and design of state and local transportation infrastructure, including but not limited to roadway design, intersections, interchanges, utilities, drainage, stormwater management, and coordination with other disciplines as necessary. The successful candidate must be flexible, technologically savvy, and client focused. The work required by the successful candidate is diverse and requires familiarity with state and local design standards, Civil 3D and/or AutoCAD, MicroStation/InRoads, and Microsoft Office Suite as well as experience with client and project management processes.

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • BS degree in Civil Engineering
  • Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within one year of date of hire.
  • 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering
  • Experience with Civil 3D and/or MicroStation InRoads
  • Ability to work in a timely fashion to meet project budgets
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and review staff
  • Ability to compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communication
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
  • The successful candidate must be flexible, technologically savvy, and client focused. The work required by the successful candidate is diverse and requires strong capabilities in Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite, ProjectWise, PMWeb, and eConstruction Tools
  • Knowledge of CDOT Design Manuals and Specifications; Ability to work across CDOT Regions
  • Demonstrated CDOT experience preferred

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $105,000-$140,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
