Full Job Description
**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES** - **Salary: $135,000 - $150,000 + 15% Team Achievement Bonus** **Manage the Delivery & Service Department** **Lead the Team:** - Establish and maintain a high-performing Delivery & Service team through strategic recruitment, comprehensive interviewing, rigorous hiring practices, and retention of qualified personnel - Ensure all team members possess the requisite tools, resources, and support to execute their responsibilities effectively - Conduct formal training sessions, provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback, complete comprehensive performance appraisals, and make evidence-based recommendations for compensation adjustments - Address and resolve employee relations matters with professionalism and adherence to company policy - Provide direct support and guidance to team members to ensure operational continuity - Develop and implement departmental plans, policies, and procedures for the Delivery & Service department - Participate in mandatory annual Leadership & Development training sessions - Conduct safety briefings, team meetings, and quarterly performance reviews - Execute additional responsibilities as directed by management and senior leadership - Complete annual performance evaluations for all drivers and staff members **Reporting/Budget:** - Prepare and submit the annual Delivery & Service department budget to the Director of Supply Chain for formal review and approval - Review and authorize all departmental payroll submissions - Analyze cost statements to identify inefficiencies and implement cost containment strategies - Audit and approve all invoices from the vehicle leasing company - Oversee fleet performance management to ensure preventive maintenance schedules are met according to company standards and repairs are completed in a timely manner - Generate comprehensive Delivery & Service reports, including backhaul analysis and weekly key performance indicator summaries - Conduct monthly Comdata audits to ensure fuel compliance and cost control **Routing, Scheduling, and DOT Compliance:** - Develop, review, and optimize driver schedules to maximize operational efficiency and minimize costs - Perform continuous analysis of vehicle and driver assignments to identify consolidation opportunities - Analyze proposed schedules and rates, prepare and distribute schedule change recommendations, and submit detailed data analyses to the WRC Transportation team - Conduct systematic route analysis to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities - Perform route observations to verify driver compliance with company and DOT standards - Monitor delivery accuracy and implement corrective strategies to reduce mis-deliveries - Monitor driver hours of service through the onboard computerized system (PeopleNet) to ensure DOT compliance - Review drive camera footage to ensure compliance with company safety and compliance standards - Maintain and audit all driver logs and required documentation - Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of driver qualification files - Execute daily dynamic routing to optimize fleet operations - Prepare for and coordinate operational and transportation audits throughout the fiscal year - Conduct required route observations to verify drivers are performing duties safely and in accordance with company and DOT regulations (frequency determined by fleet size) - Maintain fleet appearance and operational standards **Customer Service:** - Establish and maintain professional relationships with franchisees, store managers, leasing company representatives, and other key stakeholders - Provide guidance to Delivery & Service team members on customer relations protocols and serve as a role model for professional relationship management - Respond promptly to customer complaints and concerns through the Slice of Pie system - Participate on the Transportation Advisory Board as assigned - Conduct site assessments at new store locations to evaluate delivery accessibility and report findings to senior management - Operate company commercial vehicles or straight trucks for deliveries or fleet maintenance as operationally necessary and when qualified **Qualifications** **QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS** **Education:** - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or related field preferred - Minimum 2-year degree or equivalent professional work experience required **Professional Experience:** - Minimum 3-5 years of progressive Transportation and Logistics experience with demonstrated success in operational management - Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience with proven ability to develop, lead, and direct team members in achieving organizational goals and objectives - Documented track record of managing transportation operations, fleet management, and logistics functions **Technical and Regulatory Knowledge:** - Comprehensive working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, compliance requirements, and safety standards - Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite - Demonstrated expertise in fleet management systems and routing optimization **Professional Competencies:** - Results-oriented professional with exceptional organizational, analytical, and decision-making capabilities - Demonstrated excellence in people management and team leadership - Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to manage stakeholder relationships **Operational Requirements:** - Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A) required; or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire - Ability to work full-time with flexible scheduling requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays - Availability to support 24-hour operations and maintain emergency on-call status as required -
