The Transportation Data Program Administrator leads data collection, management, analysis, and visualization in support of transportation planning and reporting efforts. The position is within the Transportation Planning and Engineering Division (TP&E) of the Planning and Community Development Department and works collaboratively with divisions within Public Works and Technology and Information Services.
The City of Redmond recently adopted its Transportation Master Plan, which advances the multimodal transportation vision and guiding principles of Redmond 2050, the City's comprehensive plan. The TP&E Division is tasked with planning and analyzing Redmond's transportation system, collaborating with divisions in Public Works to implement infrastructure improvements, shifting the travel behaviors of Redmond community members through transportation demand management programs, and evaluating and reporting on progress towards creating an equitable, safe, and sustainable multimodal transportation system. The Transportation Data Program Administrator will play a central role in TP&E's data-driven work plan and cross-departmental GIS and data initiatives.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIESEssential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintains the City's traffic counts data, performance metrics and network analysis tools.
- Uses GIS and programming (e.g., Python, R, SQL) to clean, manage, query, analyze, and communicate data.
- Works within an enterprise data environment.
- Designs, maintains, and queries large database files.
- Helps develop data specifications for internal and external partners to ensure data utility and compatibility.
- Provides technical and visual communication support to complex transportation projects, grant applications, and presentations.
- Coordinates regular recurring external data requests and conducts data review of relevant external data.
- Collaborates closely with other divisions on data collection, management, queries, reporting, and important cross-departmental initiatives
- Develops, negotiates, and manages contracts, agreements, and grants; ensures that contractual and grant specifications are met and remain within established budget parameters.
- Develops, recommends, and provides oversight of assigned budget.
- Supports public and stakeholder engagement through preparing information, staffing events, and presenting information.
- Prepares, submits and/or presents materials to the Director's Team, Mayor, City Council, and external groups/agencies.
- Makes recommendations for transportation data program adjustments and strategy, including new policies or procedures to improve program effectiveness. Responsible for short- and long-term strategic planning for program.
- Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to establish relationships that build and maintain trust and further compliance with program requirements
- Collaborates on travel demand modeling and uses model to inform planning analyses

QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience
- Four years' experience in program administration or project management in analyzing complex data using advanced tools
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree related to assigned field preferred
- Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
