Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3-4 years of professional nursing experience is essential.
• 1-2 years of transplant outpatient or dialysis experience preferred.
• Active RN licensure in the District of Columbia or Compact State is required.
• CPR certification (AHA or American Red Cross) within 90 days of hire; CCTC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional nursing care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Prepare patients for physician evaluations and provide guidance on sample collection and testing.
• Interface with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate the evaluation of transplant patients.
• Coordinate patient management and education throughout the transplant process.
• Monitor and report patient conditions, and administer medications as prescribed.
• Maintain and review patient records, ensuring documentation is accurate and timely.
• Conduct patient telephone triage to assess needs and communicate with medical staff.
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and coordinate education sessions.
