Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (ABET-accredited) with 3 years of experience in transmission engineering (consulting preferred).
• Alternative: Bachelor's in Civil Engineering Technology with FE exam and 3 years of transmission engineering experience.
• Alternative: Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with 2 years of transmission engineering experience (consulting preferred).
• In-depth knowledge of civil/structural engineering techniques and standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities in quantitative problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM, etc.).
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform transmission design from conceptual phase to completion.
• Modify and review project-specific transmission components as directed by managers.
• Prepare specifications and technical data for transmission equipment and RFQs.
• Conduct economic studies for conductor selection and perform grounding calculations.
• Ensure compliance with codes for electrical clearances and interpret industry regulations.
• Research and compile project-related data and prepare reports.
• Update CAD drawings and ensure accuracy during the design process.
• Compile information for client presentations and contract administration.
• Conduct field inspections and measurements for public and private sector clients.
