Overview

Do you consider yourself to be a highly technical, strong communicator with the desire to work in a team environment on complex projects? Gilbane is seeking aTransition Manager IIto beresponsible for the implementation and tactical execution of all project activities on a large, complex transition project, either individually or through supervision of less senior project staff. This role will sit primarily on the job site, with occasional travel to the office for trainings, meetings, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train Transition Project Managers and Consultants
  • Plan and run large or complex meetings involving multiple outside organizations, such as the Owner, design team and vendors
  • Serve as the direct point of contact for the client on the assigned projects
  • Resolve project problems when multiple parties are involved
  • Write and develop project proposals
  • Oversee the development of complex databases and project schedules
  • Facilitate construction interface in large, complex projects
  • Present information to the client in facilitation of decision making
  • Oversee the completion of project reporting requirement and develop custom reporting
  • Oversee adherence to contract
  • Conduct performance reviews for direct reports
  • Manage the project cost report and take accountability for project performance, making decisions on project expenditures in support of project execution
  • Assert authority and accountability for managing the assigned project and related cost report
  • Make decisions and provide direction to subcontractors as required and consistent with the clients direction
  • Trains direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks
  • Manages workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards
  • Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members
  • Aids in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports
  • Collaborates closely with business development to ensure seamless integration with sales strategies including performance metrics on your assigned projects, pursuits, and client deliverables.Actively participates in opportunities to strengthen client, partner, and industry relationships that position Gilbane as the Builder of Choice.
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • BS or MS degree in logistics or related field
  • 5-7 years of project management experience, including 1-2 years of consulting experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Access, and Visio)
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Construction document and drawing literate with knowledge of all phases of construction
  • Knowledge of BIM360, CADD and Bluebeam
  • Detailed knowledge of at least two TPM market sectors, such as healthcare, government/military, research and development/laboratory, or higher education
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex project teams
  • Ability to demonstrate insight on TPM consulting strategy and interest in strategy formation
  • Ability to travel and flexibility to work weekends as necessary
