THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY OF $100,050.00

THIS POSITION IS ONLY OPEN TO CANDIDATES WHO ARE PERMANENT (NOT PROVISIONAL) IN THE CIVIL SERVICE TITLE OF CHILD PROTECTIVE SPECIALIST SUPERVISOR.

The Administration for Children's Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community.

The Division of Policy, Planning and Measurement (PPM) collaborates with every ACS division to guide systems analysis and strategic systems improvement; assure quality of practice at ACS and its provider agencies; professionalize the frontline workforce; bring knowledge into practice; provide research and analytic support; and plan and develop new programs and policies.

The James Satterwhite Academy (JSA) onboards hundreds of Child Protective Service Workers (CPS) each fiscal year. CPS are required to be well trained as investigators of child safety. The Training Supervisor provides expert guidance and support and supervises child welfare trainers, covers for juvenile justice training unit, leads special projects and work in close collaboration with our partners at the Office of Training and Workforce Development. This vacancy directly supports the hiring/training of front-line staff and services for children's and families via DCP, DYFJ and Providers.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Child Welfare Training, the scope of work is highlighted below which this person will be responsible for:
-JSA Training Department liaisons with high level DCP leadership, the Children's Center leadership, and our Provider Agencies, FCLS and ACS Office of Human Resources to coordinate onboarding and training for newly hired and in-service staff.
-Other ACS programs and agencies contracted by ACS with issues related to the courses and attendance at training sessions offered by Satterwhite Academy (JSA). We strive to facilitate and promote consistent attendance to all its regularly offered training opportunities at ACS.
-Participate in curriculum development and revision.
-Implement and ensures the safety of children and families by promoting and facilitating safety interventions, protocols and ensuring proper investigative practice, laws, policies, and procedures are followed in instances of child protective child neglect and abuse cases.
-Facilitate trainer development sessions and works closely with CPS Trainers and participants experiencing difficulties in understanding case management and promotes understanding and tools to establish priorities and work schedules.
-Manage lead virtual course offerings.
-Coordinate staff development activities as it relates to new/revised policies/procedures.
-Evaluate the Job performance of 7-8 JSA Child Welfare trainers.
-Knowledge and expertise of the JSA Child Protective Specialists Core Learning Program and JSA Child Welfare Core Phase I and Core Phase II programs.
