We are seeking a
Training Specialist to support our Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane customer through a remote position based in the San Diego, California area. The Training Specialist will develop and deliver technical training for defense systems and emerging technologies, translating complex technical information into clear, effective instruction for military, Government, and contractor personnel. The role supports classroom, virtual, laboratory, and field training and may require up to 50% travel for training events, fielding activities, and customer support.
This position may allow for remote work; however, employees must be able and willing to travel and provide in-office or on-site support as required by customer requirements, project demands, or business needs.Duties:- Develop and maintain technical training curricula and instructional materials using Navy training standards and Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies.
- Create instructor-led training, computer-based training, simulator-based training, student guides, lesson plans, and other courseware.
- Deliver technical instruction to military, Government, and contractor personnel in classroom, virtual, laboratory, and field environments.
- Translate complex engineering and technical information into clear training content that supports system operation and maintenance.
- Conduct hands-on demonstrations, practical exercises, and system-focused training events.
- Develop assessments, testing materials, and evaluation criteria to measure student knowledge and performance.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using student results and feedback and revise course materials as needed.
- Update training products to reflect new system fielding, capability upgrades, engineering changes, and technology insertions.
- Document training activities, student performance, curriculum revisions, and required training records.
- Coordinate with Government engineers, program managers, technical SMEs, and training teams to ensure course content remains technically accurate and aligned with current system configurations.
Desired Education:- Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Systems Design, Psychology, Training Systems, Engineering Technology, or a related field; equivalent military instructor or directly relevant training experience may be considered.
Desired Experience:- Seven (7) or more years of experience supporting technical instruction, training program development, or instructional design.
- Professional experience developing or delivering technical training for complex systems, equipment, or technologies.
- Experience developing curricula, lesson plans, instructional materials, or technical training products.
- Ability to understand technical source material and communicate system operation, maintenance, and procedures to diverse audiences.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while coordinating effectively with distributed Government and contractor teams.
- Ability to travel up to 50% in support of training events, fielding activities, and customer requirements.
- Experience serving as a military instructor, training specialist, or technical trainer supporting Department of Defense programs.
- Hands-on experience with defense systems, electronics, unmanned systems, or related technologies.
- Experience developing instructor-led, computer-based, simulator-based, or interactive courseware.
Requirement: The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Group I/II s-UAS pilot certification and pass a FAA Class III physical.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $74,985.65-$90,000.00 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
