Functions and Responsibilities
The Training Manager is responsible for the operational execution, leadership, and management of training activities. They translate the Director's strategic direction into concrete actions and oversee the day to day operations of the department by engaging associates to achieve performance, quality, and efficiency objectives.
They oversee the planning, coordination, and quality of training activities, as well as the continuous evolution of training content and practices. They ensure that training activities address identified needs and support the development of knowledge and skills.
They implement organizational direction within their team while fostering associate development and ensuring compliance with organizational policies. They act as a frontline manager and serve as the link between the strategy defined by the Director and the operational execution of training activities.
On a typical day, you will perform the following responsibilities:
Operations Management
Plan, coordinate, and supervise training activities to ensure effective and consistent delivery
Establish priorities and allocate resources based on training needs and organizational priorities
Monitor activities, performance indicators, and team objectives
Ensure the quality, consistency, and uniform application of training processes and practices
Oversee the development, review, and optimization of course plans, content, tools, and training materials
Ensure training content remains current based on changes to applications, processes, and needs
Understand and monitor dashboards and prepare required management reports
Identify gaps and implement appropriate corrective actions
Coordinate training activities related to changes, production releases, and new functionalities
Participate in the implementation of new training related processes, tools, or technologies
Promote the optimal use of digital tools, automation solutions, and emerging technologies.
Quality and Continuous Improvement
Monitor the quality and effectiveness of training activities
Analyze results, participant feedback, and other available data to identify improvement opportunities
Implement actions required to continuously improve training content, methods, and the training experience
Collaborate with various stakeholders to identify and prioritize training needs
Identify and contribute to continuous improvement and transformation initiatives within the department
Promote the sharing of best practices and the standardization of training approaches
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards applicable to activities under their responsibility.
Associate Management
Lead, engage, and support associates under their responsibility
Provide regular coaching to develop skills and foster continuous improvement
Establish individual objectives, monitor progress, and conduct performance evaluations
Be responsible for succession planning
Contribute to achieving associate satisfaction and retention targets
Plan schedules, availability, and replacement needs to ensure continuity of activities
Participate in the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and integration of new associates
Manage performance, disciplinary, and employee relations matters in collaboration with the Director
Foster a respectful, inclusive, collaborative, and engaging work environment.
Financial Management
Understand day to day factors that have a financial impact on team activities
Understand operational budgets and ensure the efficient use of human, financial, and technological resources.
Position Requirements
College diploma (DEC) in Business Administration, Human Resources, Training, Education, or a related field, or any other relevant combination of education and experience
Relevant experience in training, skills development, or a related field
Experience in a team management or supervisory role
Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of team members
Good understanding of training, skills development, and learning principles
Strong analytical and synthesis skills, as well as well developed organizational and planning abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate different activities simultaneously
Ability to analyze results and implement required improvement actions
Results oriented, with a strong focus on continuous improvement
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
Excellent proficiency in both French and English, written and spoken
Personal competencies: leadership, communication, collaboration, results orientation, problem solving, and adaptability
Demonstrate openness to emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, and act as a change ambassador by promoting their adoption within the team.
