Full Job Description
Our Los Angeles, California team has an excellent opportunity for a Trading Analyst. This person is expected to define and manage the account trading process, focusing on efficiency and accuracy using Orion and Eclipse software and knowledge of securities trading. The Trading Analyst also contributes to the managed portfolios by monitoring the portfolios and current investments. We're looking for someone with a passion for trading and sees a long-term career doing this type of work.
This is a fully remote position. We're looking for someone available Monday-Friday from 6:30am-1:30pm pacific (9:30am-4:30pm eastern).
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $100,000.00 to $130,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. Primary Job Functions
Trading & Account Management
Complete trade requests, required minimum distributions (RMDs), withdrawals, and investment of new funds
Process client model change requests by generating the across-the-board block trade orders required to affect the model changes
Perform tax loss harvesting
Maintain cash balances in client account
Execute trades according to portfolio manager directives and in accordance with the firm's best execution policies
Coordinate between custodians, customer service team, and financial advisors
Reporting & Analysis
Generate daily performance sheets
Complete quarterly best execution report
Create trade sheets for new and cash-added accounts
Assist in quarterly performance presentation
Portfolio Maintenance
Implement strategic portfolio adjustments in collaboration with portfolio managers and analysts
Ensure security weightings align with model allocations
Utilize pricing methodology for block trades
Team Support
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Education/Qualifications
Series 65 license or Series 7 & Series 63 strongly preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred in finance, business, economics, or a related field (or equivalent as demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, and/or education)
3 + years of related work experience in the asset management or financial services industry
Must have experience as a Trader or Trading Assistant for equity, mutual funds, and ETFs
Moderate understanding of the securities market and trading fundamentals required
Preferred software proficiency: Orion, Eclipse, Bloomberg, Salesforce. Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Schwab and Fidelity's trading platforms preferred
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with keen attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Commitment to high standards of ethical behavior and trustworthiness
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work collaboratively with portfolio managers and analysts
Excellent organizational and time management skills

Requirements include understanding how to craft effective prompts, evaluate AI-generated content for accuracy and appropriateness, and integrate AI tools to enhance productivity while maintaining quality standards
Comfort with learning new AI applications and understanding their appropriate use cases and limitations

WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. To comply with state, pay transparency laws, we must disclose the entire salary grade. The entire salary grade for those who are classified as this level is $57,750.00 to $126,900.00. However, the base salary range bolded above ($100,000.00 to $130,000.00) is what we expect to pay as a starting range for this position.
