Role Summary

The Global Equity Trading department at American Century Investments operates globally in nearly all markets, trading equities, ETFs, futures, options, and foreign currency. The department has responsibility for executing client transactions, seeking to minimize the impact of implementing investment decisions given prevailing market conditions. Using cutting-edge technology and internally developed systems, the department seeks to deliver results better than industry averages, helping our clients' meet their investment objectives.

The primary role of the Trader will be to execute orders in client portfolios in global equities (primarily in the United States, Canada and Latin America), ETFs, foreign currency, and related derivatives in accordance with ACI's best execution policies. This includes trading of securities, portfolio/basket trading of large lists of orders, evaluating execution performance, coordinating capital markets participation and communicating relevant market information flow to investment teams. The Trader will be required to trade electronically using algorithmic strategies or in a traditional broker-dealer high-touch environment. The Trader will partner with other members of the Global Equity Trading team to effectively coordinate workflows across team members. The Trader will work with department management and technical teams to continue to develop and enhance trading tools, proprietary metrics, and internal reports.

This role reports to VP, Head of Equity Trading.

This hybrid position will be based out of our Kansas City, MO office.

What You Bring to the Team (Required)

• Ability to effectively manage multiple orders for equities and related derivatives while also supporting different internal projects and priorities
• Experience in electronic trading of global equities and ETFs and equity market structure
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, OMS and EMS platforms
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced use of Excel, proficiency in AI tools and use cases
• Knowledge of and practical experience applying machine learning concepts for quantitative analysis of trading data
• Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written form, with high accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently with wide range of groups across ACI
• Previous experience in a trading role for 1 + years at an asset manager, hedge fund, bank or other financial institutions.
• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, business analytics or engineering (or comparable programs)
