About This Role:

Workplace Arrangements:
This is a fully remote role! The incumbent may be asked to come onsite to our Ottawa, Ontario Home Office quarterly for team gatherings.

This role is a full-time, temporary role with a contract end date of June 25, 2027.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Compensation Program Administration: Collaborate on the annual GTW (Giant Tiger Warehouse) compensation cycle, annual O/M increases, and store bonus, operating with minimal oversight while identifying efficiencies and ensuring data integrity with minimal errors. Loading one-time payments, as necessary.
  • Minimum Wage: Prepare, process, and forecast minimum wage increases for Stores, ensuring Giant Tiger is compliant with all provincial minimum wage requirements.
  • Workday: As the Total Rewards Workday SME, translate business needs into operational/technical requirements, while leading all compensation Workday configuration testing and troubleshooting issues as necessary.
  • Job Evaluation: Conduct job evaluations to ensure roles are appropriately classified, benchmarked, and aligned with organizational structures and market standards.
  • Compensation Partnership: Partner with Talent Acquisition to provide compensation recommendations for preferred candidates, ensuring alignment with internal pay equity, competitiveness with external market data, and responsiveness to candidate expectations while maintaining organizational fairness and consistency.
  • Data Integrity and Audit Readiness: Ensures accuracy and integrity of total rewards data through regular audits and analysis, identifying discrepancies, and maintaining controls to demonstrate compliance during internal audits.
  • Recognition: Provide oversight and subject matter expertise for employee recognition by monitoring spend, promoting consistent recognition practices, and equipping leaders with accessible tools to make recognition meaningful and easy to deliver.
  • Training Development: Create comprehensive compensation training resources to enhance business understanding and capability in total rewards programs.


What You'll Bring:
  • Completion of post-secondary education in Business or HR.
  • 3-5 years of compensation, and/or recognition experience.
  • 2+ years of experience using Workday (loading EIBs, testing configuration changes, auditing data accuracy, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, with a high level of attention to detail and maintain confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Intermediate knowledge of provincial legislation Canada-wide, in particular, pay equity and pay transparency.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to distill large quantities of data into a meaningful format.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills (i.e. vlookups, pivots, etc)
