Full Job Description

** Preference for this role to be near our Hoffman Estates, IL or Atlanta, GA offices, but can be home-based USA.**

About this role:

Responsible for managing and administering employee benefit programs, with a strong focus on Workday Benefits, and related HR processes.  Oversee benefits configuration, open enrollment, employee eligibility, life events, vendor integrations, and benefits data accuracy within Workday and other systems.  Manages the Compliance Committee Team which involves monthly meetings, monitoring various HR related legal, maintaining compliance tracker, and ensuring the relevant plans are in compliance.  Ensures all required notices,  posters  and annual filings are done such as RxDC, CMS and Medicare Part D notice and Summary Annual Reports are distributed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in annual benefits strategy discussions and actions including making recommendation on new benefit additions, changes to benefit plan coverages, and
  • Manage open enrollment process including working with benefits broker on benefit guide creation, ensuring all benefit renewals are completed, scheduling benefit vendor meetings, presenting new plan year benefits to employees, and preparing reports on benefits enrollment after open enrollment ends
  • Review various leave requests and coordinate with local HR Partners on approval or denial decisions
  • Reconcile 401(k) deductions from payroll with retirement vendor reports on a weekly basis
  • Manage benefit vendor change processes or addition of new benefits vendors including set up of benefit plans in Workday and testing for enrollment and payroll deductions
  • Complete annual RxDC reporting
  • Complete annual healthcare 5500 report requested by benefits broker
  • Complete annual CMS filing
  • Ensure locations receive updated Workers Compensation posters
  • Mail out annual Medicare D creditable coverage notices to employees and retirees
  • Ensure all necessary compliance updates to annual benefit limits are made in Workday
  • Update Workday with new benefits rates
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Payroll, and third-party consultants to make updates to Workday benefits set ups as needed for changes due to union negotiations
  • Assist in all benefits audits providing documentation requested and responding to inquiries from the auditors
  • Assist with 409A plan open enrollment process and update the Workday system with new deferral elections and eligibility for the 409A plan
  • Conduct advanced analysis and research within the Benefits discipline, identifying trends, opportunities, and best practices to inform decision-making and planning within the Sub-Function / part of a Sub-Region.
  • Serve as a subject matter specialist, offering recommendations on complex issues within the HR Specialist focus area, such as navigating employee relations cases or optimizing compensation packages.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes related to the Benefits  

Skills and Experience:

When determining final compensation, we take into consideration: skillset, job scope, knowledge, prior experience, cost of living, market data, budget availability, and other factors as permitted by law.

The salary range for this position is:   $92,000 - $135,000.
