Insight Global is seeking an early-mid career level Network Engineer with an active Secret Clearance (must be eligible for TS/SCI) to support a prime contract Defense at Schriever Space Force Base. This role is responsible for providing support to the software integration lab and for end-to-end communication including responsibility for making network changes to the system, enhancing and improving the network system and architecture, troubleshooting complex network issues, and resolving identified bugs. Core responsibilities: Understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4 addressing and network design including IP subnetting, VLANs, Spanning Tree, Nexus VPC and static routing/ dynamic routing protocols. Understanding of the OSI model and how to use it to troubleshoot network issues. Experience with firewall management and configuration with Cisco FirePower, ASA, Fortigate. The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a geographically diverse team. Due to the classified nature of this role, the selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at base.
Pay Range: ~$79,900-110,900 annually. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Required Skills & Experience- Active Secret Clearance (TS/SCI eligibility required)
- Bachelor's Degree (STEM) and 2+ years of experience in Networking, or 6+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and network design.
- Experience with Cisco networking technologies and firewall configuration.
- Ability to troubleshoot using the OSI model and familiarity with all 7 layers
- Active DoD 8570 approved IAT Level II (or higher) compliant certification (CCNA Security, Network +, Security+ CE, CISSP)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience- Understanding of network automation scripting using Ansible, Python, Bash, and Shell.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies like VMware and their associated networking solutions (e.g. NSX).
- Familiar with network management applications, like SolarWinds, SuzieQ, Splunk, and/or Cisco ISE.
- Familiar with Windows, Linux, VMWare configuration and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of DISA security STIGs and maintaining security best practices.
- Experience with tools like Jira, Bitbucket, Gitlab, GitHub.
