Description
The Tool Room Manager manages the maintenance, repair, and modification of plastic injection molds, ensuring high-quality, efficient tool performance and minimal production downtime. They coordinate Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules, troubleshoot tooling issues, and enforce strict safety standards within the tool shop. This is an 8-hour position that pays between $105-$120K annually•
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans and supervises all activities in the department.
Trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work and addresses issues and resolves problems.
Oversees the inspection of molds and the cleaning, disassembling, polishing, and assembling molds when necessary.
Oversees the construction of fixtures, polishing of molds, tooling, accessories including cylinders, DME's, cams, etc.
Coordinates inspection and maintenance of cranes and chains by outside vendor annually.
Able to work closely with other Department Managers and Supervisors to solve problems and provide solutions with mold issues.
Discuss mold changes and improvements with Engineering Manager.
Coordinates outside work by vendors.
Responsible for purchasing of hardware and components with approved vendors.
Reports and investigates all accidents and incidents. Will be required to complete accident and incident reports in a timely manner and submits to Human Resources.
Ensures that all employees are properly trained
Maintains labor budget requirements.
Utilizes HRIS/UKG, Mold Management System, Upkeep CMMS, and Coupa.
Maintains a fair, firm, and friendly work environment.
