Maintenance Manager - Toledo,OH

Location: Toledo, Ohio

About the Opportunity

As part of the launch of our new manufacturing facility in Toledo, Ohio, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven Maintenance Manager to join our leadership team.

This critical role will be responsible for ensuring world-class equipment reliability, driving injection molding manufacturing performance, and establishing maintenance excellence from the ground up. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting plant start-up activities, leading maintenance operations, and developing a high-performing team focused on safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement.

This position is ideally suited for a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, proven manufacturing experience, and a passion for operational excellence in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Injection Manufacturing Leadership
  • Lead all injection molding manufacturing activities while ensuring compliance with Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) standards.
  • Drive operational performance, productivity, quality, and efficiency across injection processes.
  • Establish and monitor key manufacturing performance indicators to achieve plant objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, waste reduction, and cost control.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Program teams to ensure seamless operations.


Maintenance Management
  • Develop, implement, and lead a comprehensive maintenance strategy for all plant equipment and facilities.
  • Establish predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability and reliability.
  • Ensure rapid response to equipment failures while driving permanent corrective actions and root cause analysis.
  • Manage maintenance planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and technical support activities.
  • Build and maintain a robust spare parts inventory and maintenance stores system.
  • Lead and develop a skilled maintenance team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.


Plant Launch & Industrialization
  • Support plant start-up and commissioning activities, ensuring maintenance readiness for new equipment and production systems.
  • Partner with Program Development and Industrial Engineering teams during equipment installation, validation, and ramp-up phases.
  • Participate in the implementation of transfer projects, equipment fine-tuning, and production readiness activities.
  • Contribute to maintenance area layout development and CAPEX-related installation projects.


SHE & Compliance
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with corporate SHE policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory, environmental, and technical standards.
  • Manage contractor activities and maintain safe permit-to-work processes.


Budget & Asset Management
  • Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget.
  • Identify and prioritize capital investment opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Prepare and support CAPEX requests and project justifications.
  • Monitor maintenance costs and drive cost-effective asset management practices.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Technical Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Technical certifications or equivalent expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of injection molding processes and manufacturing equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance methodologies.


Professional Experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in maintenance and manufacturing operations within a high-volume industrial or automotive environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing maintenance teams and manufacturing operations.
  • Proven success implementing continuous improvement initiatives and improving equipment reliability.
  • Experience supporting plant launches, equipment installations, or major industrialization projects is highly preferred.
