About this opportunity:Reporting to the Senior Specialist, TMPO Business Office, you will be responsible for coordinating activities across the Oil Sands and Atlantic portfolio. The successful candidate will function as a strategic business partner, demonstrating strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate effectively across functions and with senior leaders to help the team achieve its objectives.
The TMPO Business Office supports cross-functional deliverables, including the monthly forecast, annual budget, long-range plan, and other strategic initiatives that drive the financial and operational performance of the Oil Sands and Atlantic portfolios. Acting as the primary point of contact for corporate functions, the Business Office is responsible for triaging requests and directing them to the appropriate technical teams and subject matter experts within the business.
What you'll do: - Lead the development of the annual budget and long-range business plan, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, objectives, and planning guidance.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Operations, Planning, and Finance to coordinate planning activities and support the Atlantic business.
- Partner with Corporate Planning, Accounting, Commercial, Operations, and Asset Development teams to deliver monthly forecasts, the annual budget, and the five-year business plan.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze operating and capital costs, providing financial insights that support forecasting and long-range planning.
- Prepare executive-level presentations, recommendations, and analysis for the Corporate Committee and Operations Management Team to support strategic decision-making.
- Perform financial and business analysis to support strategic initiatives, capital investment decisions, Investor Day, and long-range business planning.
- Identify and communicate key business risks and opportunities while providing subject matter expertise on the Capital Allocation Framework and Investment Committee process.
- Drive continuous improvement by enhancing planning processes, integrating systems and data, and improving financial reporting across the Atlantic and Oil Sands portfolio.
Who you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA designation (or equivalent professional accounting designation) is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in the oil and gas industry, with strong knowledge of financial management, accounting, production, asset development, major projects, and/or operations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including senior leaders, while driving organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex financial and business information into clear, concise, and actionable insights for senior leadership.
