About the Position

Please note: The salary range above represents this position's earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be Therapist I: $76,742 - $106,772; Therapist II: $80,070 - $118,746 and is based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation is seeking a licensed Therapist to work for the department's with the incarcerated individual population. Bilingual candidates in English/Spanish are encouraged to apply. The work schedule for this position is Tuesday - Saturday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
What You'll Be Doing
The Mental Health Services section at MCCF is recognized for its excellent care and innovative programs that are offered to approximately 25% of the jail's population who suffer from serious and debilitating mental conditions.
• Providing direct psychotherapy
• Clinical Case Management
• Crisis Intervention
• Group Therapy
• Assessment and Diagnostic Evaluation and
• Treatment for the inmates at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Boyds, MD.

Minimum Qualifications
if filled at the Therapist I:
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, nursing, or a related behavioral science field.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT: One of the following licenses, issued by the State of Maryland, must be held prior to appointment, and maintained by, the employee:
• Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW);
• Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC);
• Licensed Graduate Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LGADC); or
• Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist (LGMFT).

Note: There will be no substitutions for this requirement.

If filled at the Therapist II:
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, nursing, or a related behavioral science field.
Experience: Two (2) years of professional experience rendering therapeutic counseling, social work, nursing or psychology services, as pertinent to one's professional licensing.
Equivalency:
None.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT: One of the following licenses, issued by the State of Maryland, must be held prior to appointment of, and maintained by, the employee:
• Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC);
• Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapy (LCMFT);
• Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC);
• Licensed Certified Social Worker/Clinical (LCSW-C);
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the United States, certified as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland; or
• Licensed Psychologist
Note: There will be no substitutions for this requirement.

For both Therapist I and Therapist II:

Possession and maintenance at all times of a:
• Valid Class C (or equivalent) driver's license from the applicant's state of residence when required for job-related duties.
Preferred Criteria, Interview Preferences
• Experience providing crisis intervention.
• Experience conducting suicide assessments.
• Experience providing clinical therapeutic services.
• Experience treating clients with mental health and substance abuse disorders.
• Experience working with individuals with behavioral health needs.
