Full Job Description
Your Role:

In your role as a Therapeutic Area Specialist, Rare, you will be at the forefront of our mission to enhance patient care through effective engagement with healthcare professionals. You will be responsible for achieving sales targets by developing and executing a strategic account management plan tailored to your assigned territory. This involves not only fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including rare disease specialists, and clinic administrators, but also ensuring that these relationships translate into improved patient outcomes.

You will engage in scientific dialogue, providing data-driven insights that clearly articulate the therapeutic benefits of our products. As the territory expert, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, medical affairs, and customer care, to inform strategy and enhance the value proposition of EMD Serono's offerings. You will work with the cross-functional team to actively map and develop Canada's rare disease treatment landscape. In your role you will navigate both promotional and non-promotional discussions, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Additionally, you will be responsible for reporting adverse events and product complaints, maintaining a high standard of safety and efficacy in all interactions. Your ability to understand and respect all relevant company policies, industry codes, and applicable laws will be crucial in this role. You should be prepared to travel up to 75% of the time to meet with healthcare professionals and stakeholders, ensuring that you are always present where your expertise is needed most.

Territory: position based in Ontario

Travel: up to 75% within territory and occasional meetings at central head office and National or international conferences

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of sales experience in a specialty therapeutic area, preferably in pharma or biotech.
  • English written and spoken


PreferredQualifications:

  • You demonstrate outstanding consultative-selling skills and have a proven ability to build and manage relationships with internal partners.
  • Your excellent communication skills enable you to engage effectively with customers, both in person and virtually.
  • You are self-driven, possess strong project management skills, and are proficient in CRM and Microsoft Office applications.
  • You have specialty sales experience in rare disease with understanding of key institutions within the assigned territory.


Base Pay Range for this position -$127,400-$155,800 per year

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
