Description

SAIC is seeking a Theater Air and Missile Defense Planner to join our team supporting United States Army Central (USARCENT) at Shaw AFB in South Carolina.

This position may have some limited Overseas travel to Austere locations.

NOTE: This immediate need is ongoing to support CENTCOM AOR with a six (6) month period of performance (add on support expected)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Serve as principal advisor and subject matter expert for the integration and employment of joint and multinational, lethal and non-lethal, fires at the Army Service Component Command (ASCC) level.
  • Analyze Operational Orders (OPORDs), messages, and intelligence to drive and develop Theater Air and Missile Defense tasks.
  • Continuous Assessment of the operational environment, including friendly forces and enemy activities, to adapt strategies as needed.
  • Conduct long term planning, lead mission analysis and develop concepts into actionable operations.
  • Integrate and synchronize with all warfighting functions. Coordinate with intelligence sections. Knowledgeable in basic, intermediate and advanced air defense planning processes and procedures.
  • Plan and deliver dynamic air defense support using a variety of weapon systems. Develop detailed operational plans to support defense mission, ensuring alignment with Commanders Intent. Develop briefings and Course of Action analysis to facilitate decision-making; prepare After Action Reviews to ensure goals and objectives are met.
  • Participate in and provide expertise to Joint Theater Air Missile Defense Board meetings, working groups, and other planning sessions. Work closely with staff and senior level commands Service Components to synchronize efforts to ensure plans and logistical requirements are executable.

Qualifications

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree and six (6) years' experience; additional four (4) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Clearance:
  • Must possess an active Secret, TS/SCI highly preferred (US Citizenship required).

Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in dynamic and deliberate planning.
  • Technical expertise, operational experience, and strategic insight in an operational environment.
  • Understand force packaging, force monitoring and combat assessment.
  • An understanding of air defense and knowledge of various air defense weapons.
  • Must possess the ability to operate independently, executing the commander's intent with limited oversight.
  • Candidate will also have served at an operational level headquarters and have a working understanding of Army Operations.
