Role: Mid Level Tester

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Mid Level Tester with strong experience in manual and automated testing to support enterprise Payroll applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in software testing methodologies, Payroll domain processes, and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This is a W2 only opportunity, and candidates must be eligible to obtain or currently possess a Public Trust Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interact with developers and stakeholders to define, document, analyze, execute, and interpret system integration tests for complex Payroll applications.
• Review user requirements and develop comprehensive test plans.
• Develop test data for functional and integration testing.
• Transform test plans into executable test scripts.
• Execute manual and automated test cases.
• Perform functional, smoke, regression, and end to end testing.
• Analyze test results and document findings.
• Document test execution results in tracking systems.
• Recommend corrective actions based on testing outcomes.
• Ensure testing procedures comply with USPS Technology Solution Life Cycle (TSLC) standards.
• Collaborate with developers to validate fixes and support quality assurance activities.
Required Skills:
• 2 to 5 years of experience in technology or software development.
• Minimum 2 years of hands on manual and automated testing experience.
• Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies.
• Experience executing manual and automated testing.
• Payroll domain knowledge.
• Understanding of payroll cycles, tax calculations, deductions, benefits, garnishments, and bonuses.
• Experience validating gross to net payroll calculations.
• Knowledge of payroll lifecycle processes including onboarding, HR integration, payroll simulation, paycheck generation, and termination processing.
• Basic understanding of payroll accounting.
• Experience using AI driven tools for automated test generation.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
• DevSecOps.
• Agile Scrum.
• VersionOne or equivalent Agile project management tools.
• SDLC best practices.
• PL/SQL.
• Payroll systems and processing.
• AI and Machine Learning tools such as Microsoft Copilot, IBM watsonx, ReDux, or similar technologies.
• Mainframe knowledge.

Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Technology, Software Development, Computer Science, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
Candidates without a relevant degree must possess an additional 2 years of relevant professional experience.
