GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Test and Validation Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality designs through comprehensive requirement testing and validation. The position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of different components, subsystems and vehicles. The position requires technical expertise to develop and lead product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality and reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards, and conduct projects in accordance with engineering excellence.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
  • Lead the validation of small and large projects to meet required timing by working with design engineers and test technicians
  • Develop DVP&R's (Design Verification Plan and Report) ensuring traceability from requirements to validation
  • Participate in DFMEA (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) reviews and provide input
  • Develop laboratory test plans, procedures, analyze test data and write or approve technical reports
  • Set up and use of data acquisition equipment and processing the resulting data
  • Prepare and manage schedules for assigned projects
  • Identify project/subsystem risks and developing/executing subsequent mitigation plans

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Standardize test procedures through the development of test guidelines
  • Regularly use advanced decision-making tools and techniques
  • Automate test setups and data reporting
  • Correlate lab testing to field duty cycles
  • Effectively self-manage medium to large size projects

  • Understands the impact of potential solutions and makes recommendations accordingly
  • Drive culture of traceable test acceptance criteria using reliability and confidence in designs
  • Manage external testing


QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required


Expertise in following areas:

  • Testing, data analysis, project management


Experience:

  • At least 7 years relevant experience
