Job SummaryThe Test Systems Engineer (ATE) will design, develop, and maintain automated test equipment for aerospace and defense applications. The role involves hands-on integration of hardware and software, troubleshooting, calibration, and qualification of embedded systems while ensuring compliance with MIL and aerospace standards. The engineer will support production testing, system bring-up, and ensure high-quality testing for complex mixed-signal and embedded systems.

Key Responsibilities- Develop, upgrade, and maintain automated test equipment (ATE) for aerospace and MIL-standard applications.
- Integrate NI PXI, PCI hardware, DAQ systems, and third-party instruments.
- Design automated tests for mixed-signal products, analog circuits, embedded microprocessors, FPGAs, supporting circuitry, and power supplies.
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, and perform system bring-up for new test systems.
- Conduct bench testing, failure analysis, and prototyping for production testing.
- Support software code repositories and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD).
- Ensure compliance with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1275, RTCA/DO-160, IPC-610.
- Utilize test bench equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes, DAQs, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, JTAG/ICE probes.
- Read schematics for system verification and troubleshooting.
- Handle ITAR-controlled data; US Citizenship required.
Required Skills & Experience- NI LabVIEW, TestStand, Python programming.
- Hands-on experience with PXI, PCI hardware, DAQs, and automated test instruments.
- Knowledge of communication protocols: RS422/RS232, ARINC, AFDX, TCP/IP, Ethernet, UDP.
- Common I/O protocols: I2C, SPI, JTAG, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553.
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting and system bring-up skills.
- Embedded system testing and qualification experience in MIL/Aerospace environments.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Prototyping and bench testing experience.
