Full Job Description
This position is looking for a highly motivated, highly experienced lead maritime test engineer with emphasis in developmental test of autonomous systems and experience performing program management responsibilities. You will work heavily with the program leadership and a wide spectrum of cross-departments to help build a team focused on solving hard problems and changing the industry forever. The role will be responsible for planning, coordination, execution and reporting on all facets of the test program.

The Test and Evaluation team at Anduril works across the entire spectrum of products and business lines, as well as all maritime, air, and land-based operations and test range management. Our team conducts full system level development testing, new production acceptance testing, sub-component qualification testing and much more. In short, if it involves test, we support it. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Own, plan, and execute full system level T&E of hardware and software with emphasis placed on driving design maturation fast. Conducting shore and sea-based test, initial issue investigation, root cause and corrective action, and process improvement/development.
  • Assist in the integration process of various subsystems, including sensors, communication systems, and autonomy software, into a complete and fully functional underwater sensor product.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to the Field Operations team, including test authority, task assignment, and event scheduling.
  • Implement and maintain processes for test documentation throughout the entire development and test cycle.
  • Work closely with program management and other engineering department leads to establish requirements, communicate test campaign schedule and progress, establish test campaign gates, develop milestones, and identify areas of improvement based on collected results in test.
  • Collaborate with external partners or customers during integration and test phases; address stakeholder requirements and ensure successful integration of their payloads into the system as part of the overall mission lifecycle.
  • Embed within a dynamic team of multidisciplinary engineers and specialists throughout the life of product design, integration, and test efforts
  • Participate in design reviews, requirements analysis, test objectives and measures, and system verification planning to ensure compliance with project goals and industry standards.
  • Lead a team to conduct shore and sea-based testing at private and government-owned test ranges
  • Plan, execute, and report on lab, shore, and sea-based tests as required
  • Oversee test data collection efforts and perform initial data analysis for the system under test.
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • A genuine interest and 10+ years experience in systems engineering, integration and testing
  • 7+ years of experience as a lead test conductor/test director for developmental systems on manned and/or unmanned sea-craft - include requirements development, test planning and execution, and test reporting
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.
  • Must have a complete understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.
  • Previous expertise and working knowledge of Maritime operating rules and regulations.
  • Strong computer and documentation experience, to include experience with Linux and command line interfaces as well as software debugging
  • Must have excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Master's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • Prior experience with software code/script building using programming languages such as Go, Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, etc.
  • Working Knowledge with COTs Small Autonomous Systems - autopilot and mission planning software.
  • Previous experience with and/or current working knowledge of MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, AS8775, AS5653, etc.
  • Experience working with maritime personnel and familiar with maritime terminology.
  • Experience with tactical datalinks.
  • Experience with multiple different propulsion systems to include air and non-air breathing.


US Salary Range

$146,000-$194,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
