Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an Engineer, Test to support our cutting-edge Drone Armor counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) program. The Test Engineer will coordinate and execute test events, ensure accurate setup of test environments, and validate IT hardware, software, systems, and networks supporting mission-critical C-UAS capabilities.

What You'll Be Doing

Test Planning, Coordination & Execution

  • Coordinate and execute test events in accordance with approved test plans, procedures, and scripts
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and customer stakeholders to schedule and conduct test activities
  • Ensure tests are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with program and customer requirements

Test Environment Setup & Readiness

  • Ensure test environments are set up accurately, including IT hardware, software, systems, and network configurations
  • Verify readiness of test tools, data, and instrumentation prior to execution
  • Identify and resolve issues with test configurations and environments to prevent test delays or invalid results

Test Execution, Data Collection & Reporting

  • Execute test procedures and scripts for IT hardware, software, systems, and networks associated with Drone Armor
  • Collect and analyze test data to assess performance, functionality, and compliance with requirements
  • Create clear, comprehensive test reports documenting procedures, results, anomalies, and recommendations
  • Support defect documentation, tracking, and retest activities as needed

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with developers, systems engineers, and field personnel to reproduce and diagnose issues discovered during test
  • Provide feedback to improve test plans, procedures, and overall test strategy
  • Participate in technical reviews and briefings to communicate test outcomes and risk assessments

What Required Skills You'll Bring

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required with 5 years of experience
    OR
  • 8 years of relevant test engineering experience may be substituted for education

Experience

  • Experience in the coordination and execution of test events in accordance with approved test plans, procedures, and scripts
  • Experience setting up and validating test environments for IT hardware, software, systems, and networks
  • Experience creating test reports that clearly communicate results, issues, and recommendations
  • Experience testing IT hardware, software, systems, and networks in lab, field, or operational environments

Technical Competencies

  • Understanding of test engineering principles, test design, and defect management
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts and system configurations relevant to test environments
  • Ability to use test tools, logging mechanisms, and data collection methods to support analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow and improve documented procedures

Security & Citizenship

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • SECRET security clearance

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

Advanced Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related discipline
  • Relevant certifications in testing or quality (e.g., ISTQB, ISEB) or related technical areas

Specialized Experience

  • Experience supporting DoD, defense, C-UAS, or mission-critical test activities
  • Experience with developmental and operational testing in lab and field environments

Additional Technical Skills

  • Experience with test management tools, defect tracking systems, and automated test frameworks
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation for test setup and execution

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.​

This position is part of our Federal Solutions team.

Salary Range: $88,400.00 - $154,700.00
