Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:

Advanced Energy is looking for an experienced Test Development Engineer to join our team in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Test Engineer designs, develops, and implements cost-effective solutions for manufacturing tests for several high frequency, high voltage circuits and systems that ensure high quality standards. The position performs a variety of technical, multi-disciplined tasks early in the Product Development Process to provide timely, flexible, universal tools and processes. The Test Engineer makes knowledgeable, data-driven decisions and employs innovative technologies with optimal control and maximum speed and flexibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure testability and serviceability of new product designs, providing feedback to design teams addressing opportunities for defects in manufacturing and field use
  • Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, completes specifications and procedures for new products and for product design changes throughout the product's lifecycle
  • Accurately estimate project costs and schedules associated with implementing test solutions
  • Owns test requirements from the vendor, to shipment, to the customer
  • Verify products meet their functional requirements - including design verification and manufacturing screens
  • Analyze capabilities and ensure control of critical parameters of products and test equipment


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Onsite in Fort Collins, CO
  • Regularly working in lab, office, and manufacturing facilities with power output up to 60 kW. Travel to international manufacturing and/or development locations may be required throughout the product's lifecycle


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to influence design team decisions
  • Solve complex technical problems with minimal assistance
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Expertise in programming automation and data collection
  • Strong team partnership for project success
  • Experience with a variety of General-Purpose Test Equipment use and automation including: Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, DAQs, and Switches.
  • Understanding of manufacturing test environment
  • Experience in power supply testing or design
  • Object Oriented Programming Skills
  • 6-sigma or equivalent statistical, problem-solving methodology
  • Programming experience in NI LabVIEW and Test Stand, C++, SQL, and/or Python

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $75,000 to $105,000 per year.
