Job Summary

Battelle is currently seeking a Test Engineer II. This position is located in Oxnard, CA.

This is a full-time position and requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance to perform job duties. The selected candidate will work with a team in a broad range of materials and equipment to ensure deliverable hardware meets organizational standards and end-user requirements. The candidate will apply principles of engineering, job skills, and applicable certifications, policies, and procedures to complete a variety of tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Define, document, analyze, perform and interpret tests for products, systems, components or modifications utilizing internal and industry quality control standards.
  • Provides input on design improvements and fabrication feasibility for prototype hardware.
  • Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment, creativity and initiative are required to identify the problem and provides input into a solution.
  • Recommends and implements improved methods for new approaches. Responsible for various types of equipment and oversight of facility operations.
  • Completes complex tasks under minimal supervision or guidance. Plans and performs project work from a basic understanding of objectives and work statements.
  • May participate in or provide input to written and/or oral presentations to clients, suppliers, visitors and technical representatives to disseminate information. Assist engineers in preparing engineering drawings and reports for stakeholders.
  • Procures, fabricates, assembles, and tests components and assemblies using technical drawings, sketches, and technical design packages, sometimes under the guidance of a design engineer.


Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field; two years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
  • Must be a US Citizen and currently holds a Top Secret/SCI security clearance
  • Experience in reading technical assembly drawings and sketches, procuring, fabricating, and assembling complex assemblies.
  • Experience testing various electrical or mechanical components.
  • Exhibits technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to complete complex assignments and demonstrates the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to follow, modify and generate procedures of significant complexity.
  • Physically fit to accomplish required tasking including working from ladders and in confined spaces.
  • Must have experience in conceptualization design requirements and be able to transform requirements into a feasible design based on both verbal and visual information under moderate supervision.
  • Should have knowledge of types of materials and components required by the design.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • Ability to handle multiple job assignments simultaneously and manage time effectively.


Preferred Qualifications

  • May be expected to pursue various certifications or continuing educational units, as needed.
  • Performs complex analysis of data and provides input for reports.
  • Ability to work within stringent client-driven quality assurance program.
  • Experience with integration and test of mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Willingness to travel. Travel is expected to be less than 10% of the time. As experience increases, travel responsibilities may expand and may include both national and international travel up to 50%.


Compensation Data

Salary

Pay rate: $100,000-120,000

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors
