The role requires hands-on technical leadership in designing scalable automation frameworks, mentoring teams, and enabling high-quality software delivery within Agile and DevOps environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesAutomation Strategy & Architecture - Define and implement enterprise-wide test automation strategy, standards, and best practices.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and robust automation frameworks.
- Establish automation governance, coding standards, reporting, and framework architecture guidelines.
- Drive automation adoption across UI, API, Integration, Regression, E2E, and Batch testing.
Framework Engineering - Architect and implement modern automation frameworks using Playwright, TypeScript, and Selenium.
- Build and enhance UI, API, Mobile, Database, and End-to-End automation frameworks.
- Modernize legacy automation solutions and drive migration to next-generation frameworks.
- Review automation code and ensure adherence to engineering standards.
BDD & Agile Quality Engineering - Lead implementation of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices.
- Design and maintain BDD automation frameworks using tools such as Cucumber.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to create executable business specifications.
- Ensure traceability between business requirements, test scenarios, and automated tests.
Shift-Left Testing - Drive Shift-Left testing adoption across the SDLC.
- Participate in requirements, design, and architecture reviews to improve testability.
- Enable early defect identification and prevention through automation and quality engineering practices.
- Implement risk-based and continuous testing approaches.
CI/CD & DevOps Enablement - Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement automated quality gates and continuous testing practices.
- Collaborate with Development and DevOps teams to improve release quality and deployment velocity.
- Enable automation execution through Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent platforms.
AI-Powered Quality Engineering - Leverage AI and GenAI technologies to improve test design, script creation, maintenance, and defect analysis.
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled testing solutions and intelligent automation practices.
- Utilize GitHub Copilot or similar AI tools to enhance engineering productivity.
- Evaluate emerging AI-driven testing technologies and recommend innovation opportunities.
Performance Testing & Non-Functional Testing - Support performance testing strategy and execution.
- Collaborate on scalability, reliability, and resiliency testing initiatives.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and quality risks across applications.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management - Lead and mentor automation engineers and test leads.
- Define automation roadmaps and quality transformation initiatives.
- Work closely with business, product, development, and operations stakeholders.
- Communicate project status, risks, metrics, and quality insights effectively.
Must-Have Skills Test Automation - 12+ years of experience in QA, Test Automation, and Quality Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright Automation.
- Expertise in TypeScript (preferred) and/or JavaScript.
- Strong experience with Selenium WebDriver.
- Experience building and scaling enterprise-grade automation frameworks.
- Experience automating UI, API, Integration, Regression, and E2E testing.
Automation Framework Architecture - Proven experience setting up automation frameworks from scratch.
- Experience designing reusable, scalable, maintainable, and enterprise-wide automation solutions.
- Knowledge of framework architecture patterns, reporting, parallel execution, and cross-browser testing.
BDD & Quality Practices - Strong experience with BDD (Behavior Driven Development).
- Hands-on experience with Cucumber or similar BDD frameworks.
- Experience implementing Shift-Left Testing practices.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Quality Engineering principles.
CI/CD & DevOps - Experience integrating automation suites with CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent tools.
- Experience implementing Continuous Testing and automated quality gates.
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices and release automation.
AI & Modern Quality Engineering - Experience utilizing AI in Test Automation and Quality Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI tools.
- Experience with AI-assisted test generation, maintenance, optimization, and defect analysis.
- Understanding of GenAI and Agentic AI use cases in software testing.
Domain & Leadership - Strong BFSI domain experience.

Good-to-Have Skills - US Banking and Lending domain experience.
- Commercial Lending, Loan Origination, Loan Servicing, Mortgage, or Credit Operations knowledge.
- Performance testing experience using JMeter, LoadRunner, k6, or similar tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Exposure to API testing and microservices testing.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of Test Data Management and Service Virtualization.
- Experience with AI-driven autonomous testing platforms.
- ISTQB Test Automation or equivalent certification.
