General Summary:

Key Duties & Responsibilities

In a futureTerritory Account Managerrole at Vertex, you may:

  • Build strategic customer partnershipswith key decision-makers and healthcare stakeholders across target accounts

  • Navigate complex health systemsby engaging clinical, administrative, pharmacy, formulary, and protocol stakeholders

  • Develop and execute account plansthat reflect customer priorities, institutional dynamics, access considerations, and business opportunities

  • Identifybarriers and unlock solutionsthat support appropriate patientidentification, access, and long-term account growth

  • Bring product and clinicalexpertiseto customer conversations using approved messaging and compliant engagement practices

  • Support access and formulary effortsby delivering value-based messaging and collaborating with internal partners on pull-through strategies

  • Drive strong business performancethrough disciplined planning, execution, forecasting, and follow-through

  • Collaborate across teamswhile modeling the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and compliance

Required Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

  • Advanceddegreesuch as an MBA

  • Progressive experience in pharmaceutical or biotech sales and account management

  • A strongtrack recordof results, with a clearcustomer and patient focus

  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and strategic account planning skills

  • Ability to work effectively in complex, cross-functional environments

  • Experience navigating sophisticated customer systems and processes, including institutional decision-making and access/formulary dynamics where applicable

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel by car or plane up to 80% of the time 

  • Overnight travel (approximately 10–30%) may berequired

  • Ability to meet customer credentialing requirements, including background screening, training, and vaccination requirements, as applicable

Pay Range:

$133,600 - $200,400

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
