Description

Markon is building a talent pool of TEMPEST/RF Specialists to support future Intelligence Community facility and secure construction missions. This pipeline opportunity is intended to identify experienced professionals to provide specialized TEMPEST, radio frequency (RF), and emanations security expertise in support of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and other secure environments. Selected candidates will be considered for future openings requiring RF shielding verification, TEMPEST inspections, technical assessments, and remediation support in accordance with applicable Intelligence Community requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct TEMPEST inspections, RF shielding verification, and emanations security assessments for SCIFs and other secure facilities.
  • Perform RF shielding verification testing to validate required attenuation levels, including 60 dB attenuation requirements where applicable.
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot specialized RF and TEMPEST test equipment used during inspections and assessments.
  • Analyze test results, identify potential vulnerabilities or deficiencies, and develop technical findings and recommendations.
  • Provide technical guidance on TEMPEST and RF remediation strategies to address identified compliance issues.
  • Coordinate with customers, engineers, security professionals, construction teams, inspectors, and other stakeholders to support secure facility requirements.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports, test results, inspection findings, and supporting documentation.
  • Support multiple assessments and technical priorities in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with current CI polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field; 6 years of specialized TEMPEST/RF experience may substitute for a degree
  • 5+ years of experience conducting TEMPEST inspections, RF shielding verification, and/or emanations security assessments
  • Current TEMPEST Certification (Level 2 or higher) or completion of an approved TEMPEST Countermeasures Investigator course within the past 3 years
  • CDSE CD116 (TEMPEST Fundamentals) training
  • TEMPEST/01-13 training
  • Experience operating and maintaining RF/TEMPEST test and measurement equipment
  • Strong knowledge of RF principles, shielding effectiveness, emanations security, and applicable TEMPEST requirements
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills

Desired:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience supporting SCIF inspections and ICD 705/ICS 705-1 compliance activities
  • Experience performing RF shielding verification against 60 dB attenuation requirements
  • Experience developing and advising on corrective actions for TEMPEST, RF shielding, and emanations security deficiencies
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community secure facilities and construction projects
Salary RangeUSD $165,000.00 - USD $225,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
