Oxford Solutions is working with a client seeking an experienced Telecom Project Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a hybrid position supporting complex telecommunications and network infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.
The ideal candidate will combine strong project management experience with a technical understanding of telecommunications systems, wired and wireless networks, fiber optics, and radio communications. Travel of approximately 25-50% is required.
Responsibilities
- Manage telecommunications projects from initial planning through implementation, maintaining alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and technical requirements.
- Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Track project progress and provide regular status reporting to leadership.
- Coordinate the daily activities of engineering and technical teams.
- Lead project and technical meetings, identify potential issues, and drive resolution.
- Define project responsibilities, deliverables, and expectations across internal and external teams.
- Evaluate hardware, software, and communications technology solutions based on technical requirements, cost, and project needs.
- Coordinate installation, deployment, upgrades, and maintenance of telecommunications and network technologies.
- Support projects involving wired and wireless communications infrastructure, fiber optics, and complex network environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience managing telecommunications, communications infrastructure, networking, or similarly complex technical projects.
- Strong understanding of wired and wireless network design.
- Knowledge of fiber optic systems, digital communications, servers, hardware, software, and communications technology.
- Familiarity with radio communications concepts, including RF systems, signal propagation, frequency allocation, and related engineering principles.
- Strong project planning, scheduling, communication, and team leadership skills.
- Professional project management certification preferred.
- Ability to travel approximately 25-50%.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule in the Pittsburgh, PA area.
