Summary

This position is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

This position is for DISA White House Communications Agency at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, District of Columbia. This is an Excepted Service position and does not confer eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.

Duties

Help

  • Provides oversight of all operational matters of direct communications support to the President of the United States (POTUS), the Vice President of the United States (VPOTUS), White House Staff, and the United States Secret Service.
  • Serves as an Advisor to White House Military Office (WHMO) Leads and Travel Operations.
  • Develops instruction, policy letters, and formal reports pertaining to Presidential Communications Command travel operations.
  • Manages the operational control of travel detachment personnel to complete stateside and overseas missions in direct support to POTUS and VPOTUS.
  • Ensures that all personnel are meeting their upgrade training gates by establishing processes and procedures to execute and track personnel growth and development.

  • Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement.

  • This is a Top Secret/SCI position with Yankee White and requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • This position is subject to completion of 1 year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position.
  • This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual.
  • This is a covered position and the person selected for this position must complete an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment pursuant to 5 CFR 2634.903(b) (DoD 5500.7).
  • This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.


Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Individual Occupational Requirements

Education

  • Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.
  • Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis.


OR

  • Experience in evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology.


AND

Qualifying Experience:

To qualify at the GG-14 grade level, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in deploying telecommunications or IT systems, such as, but not limited to, satellites, networks, radio, line-of-sight, microwave, encryption, switching, wireless, sound, lighting, audio feeds, and power generation systems.
