Technology Resiliency Specialist

You will be working on a flexible hybrid schedule as part of Fidelity's dynamic working arrangement.

The work location for this role is 483 Bay Street in Toronto until approximately late 2026, when the work location will change to the new Mississauga office at 3 Robert Speck Parkway.

Business Overview

The Technology Resiliency Specialist is responsible for the design, coordination, and execution of Fidelity Canada's technology resilience capabilities, including disaster recovery, cyber recovery, and the Isolated Recovery Environment (IRE). The role ensures that critical systems and platforms can be recovered securely and within defined recovery objectives in the event of major incidents.

This position combines deep infrastructure expertise with cross-functional coordination, vendor oversight, and recovery orchestration. The role works closely with Infrastructure, Cyber & Resilience Office, Architecture, and application teams to strengthen recovery capabilities and support enterprise resilience.

What You Will Do
  • Resilience & Recovery Engineering
    • Design and enhance recovery solutions across cloud and on-prem environments
    • Align with RTO/RPO objectives and eliminate single points of failure
    • Support and optimize isolated recovery environments (IRE) ensuring data integrity and security
  • Disaster Recovery Execution & Testing
    • Develop and maintain runbooks and recovery procedures
    • Execute recovery during incidents and testing (including cyber/ransomware scenarios)
    • Validate outcomes against RTO/RPO and document remediation actions
  • Vendor Management & Collaboration
    • Work with vendors to validate recovery solutions and optimize performance
    • Partner with infrastructure, cyber, and application teams to align recovery strategies and dependencies
  • Governance & Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain recovery documentation and support audits
    • Identify gaps and drive improvements to resilience and recovery capabilities


What You Will Bring
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with disaster recovery, backup, and recovery technologies
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and hybrid environments
  • Solid understanding of RTO/RPO, replication, and failover strategies
  • Experience working across multiple infrastructure domains (compute, storage, network)
  • Strong problem-solving and system-thinking capabilities
  • Ability to coordinate across teams and manage complex technical dependencies


Nice to Have:
  • Certifications in cloud, infrastructure, or resilience-related domains
  • Industry certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, DR/BC, ITIL)
  • Experience with isolated recovery environments (IRE / cyber recovery vaults)
  • Exposure to ransomware recovery or cyber resilience strategies
  • Experience in financial services or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with automation, scripting (PowerShell, Python), or DevOps practices
  • Understanding of platform engineering or modern infrastructure patterns
  • Experience With Cohesity platforms

  • Base Salary and Discretionary Performance Bonus: A competitive annual range of 105,000 to 129,000 based on your experience and qualifications.
