Full Job Description
TITLE: TECHNOLOGY PROJECT MANAGER

(12 month position)

QUALIFICATIONS:.

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft office and excel Knowledge of Microsoft project manager

Good communication skills Good writing skills

A+ computer certification Transportation & a valid Driver's license

Possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in any information

, Technology degree.

OR

Possession of an Associates degree from an accredited college or university in any Information Technology degree plus two years of work experience.

OR

Four Years of work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree coupled with some schooling.

AUTHORITY AND RELATIONSIHP:

Reports to the Director of Technology and Information Systems

BASIC FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of the new schools technology projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame by performing the following duties personally.

GENERAL RFSPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the installation of technology in all new school buildings. Oversee all technology installations and upgrade projects.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attends meetings with architects, state personnel, and district personnel concerning all new building projects.

Attend site construction meetings

Make site visits when buildings are under construction

Consults with management and reviews project proposals to determine goals, time frame, finding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources.

Develops project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks,

contingency plans, and allocation of available resources. Formulates and defines technical scope and objectives of project.

Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.

Coordinates recruitment or use of project personnel (internal staff) including assignment

of duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.

Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule

. and within budget.

Establishes standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.

Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modified schedules and plans as required.

Prepares project status reports (using MS project 2003) and keeps management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues.

Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems. Coordinates and responds to requests for changes from original specifications.

Develops business processes that ensure developed application meets all project requirements.

Develops and maintains technical and project documentation.

Develops quality assurance test plans and directs quality assurance testing.

Coordinates project activities with technology and information systems groups, and client/district staff to ensure goals and requirements are met.

Prepares and presents the project plans and proposals to Information Technology groups and district/clients.
