About the Role

The Technology Client Services Attorney is an integral part of Latham’s Technology & Information Services team. This role will be responsible for communicating and presenting to the firm’s clients about innovative technology initiatives, including artificial intelligence and legal technology, aimed at enhancing client service, as well as assisting the Director in developing and supporting the goals of the client services program within the Technology & Information Services Department. This role will be located in either our New York, Washington D.C., or Chicago office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Continuously monitoring and evaluating the firm's technology offerings, including artificial intelligence, as well as current and emerging technologies and market trends that could enhance legal service delivery, and providing insights and making strategic recommendations to senior management to benefit the firm's clients
  • Guiding partners in effectively discussing technology with their clients by providing coaching and support, developing and delivering client-focused presentations that highlight strategic technology initiatives, and ensuring partners are equipped to communicate the benefits of emerging technologies in enhancing legal services
  • Collaborating with the New Business, Client Engagement, and other Business Development teams to keep informed of strategic and emerging clients of the firm and developing technology-related content for panels, pitches, RFPs, and client surveys
  • Developing and maintaining communications, talking points, presentations, and other materials about legal technology trends, artificial intelligence, and technology tools with a client-centric focus
  • Collaborating with the Innovation & AI team to share information about technology initiatives, client feedback, and client workshop and training opportunities
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

  • Possess excellent operational skills (e.g., organizing, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making)
  • Demonstrate well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm

And have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent, preferably a J.D. or equivalent
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Law firm or professional service experience, preferably
