Summary

You will serve as the LCAC Operations Task Lead in the ACV Technical Services Branch, Expeditionary Systems Division of NAVSURFWARFCTR PANAMA CITY DIVISION.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.

Duties

Help

• You will serve as the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) Operations Task Lead within the Air Cushion Vehicle (ACV) branch of Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division.
• You will interpret technical publications, equipment manuals, and engineering changes to develop and enforce practical, step-by-step operating checklists for craft crews, operating procedures, and inclement weather precautions.
• You will generate, review, and revise Safe Engineering and Operations (SEAOPS) manual change proposals.
• You will coordinate craft and crew support for developmental and operational testing (DT/OT) of new craft upgrades.
• You will conduct operational risk assessments (ORM) for upcoming missions and formulate formal contingency plans.
• You will maintain a dynamic, long-range master schedule coordinating craft availability, crew training, and maintenance windows.
• You will facilitate weekly synchronization meetings between military leadership, civilian managers, and technical contractor teams.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Temporary travel may include traveling onboard ships and overseas.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: operating Air Cushion Vehicles (e.g., LCAC) as a Pilot/Craftmaster during over-water and land transits, testing, and maintenance. Examples of qualifying experience may include: Developing pre-mission transit profiles, conducting Operational Risk Assessments (ORM), and enforcing Safe Engineering and Operations (SEAOPS) guidelines; Analyzing post-mission data to evaluate system performance and developing technical operating procedures or equipment checklists.

Additional information

The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $138,370).

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

This position requires exposure to high noise levels.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
