Job SummaryWe are currently seeking a professional mid-level Technical Writer II to join our fast-paced team in supporting HVAC product development. As a technical writer at Trane, you play a vital role collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class products to the customer.
You will work closely with the technical publications team, product managers, engineers, technical support, and other subject matter experts to understand the products, write, and maintain product documentation, and advocate for our customers. This role requires writing and editing experience, and strong verbal communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Key Competencies:- Knowledge of content management and XML authoring tools.
- Knowledge of Adobe Technical Communication Suite and Creative Cloud or related desktop publishing and graphic programs.
- Knowledge of online help (RoboHelp).
- Ability to translate highly technical concepts into understandable content for the end user.
- Independently manage multiple projects, evaluate workflows, thrive in a collaborative onsite environment, and leverage problem solving skills to improve processes.
- Ability to make autonomous decisions as appropriate.
- Ability to leverage internal AI technology to optimize content and maximize productivity.
- Time management, organizational skills, and strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:- Write, edit, and assess complex material to create and update user documentation in compliance with technical input, best practices, and department standards.
- Initiate and coordinate project scope and schedule with Portfolio Leaders, Product Managers, Project Managers, Engineering, and other Subject Matter Experts to ensure maximum efficiency and customer experience.
- Manage multiple individual projects, including (but not limited to) identifying deliverables, release schedule, and allocating resources across a global team.
- Collaborate with team members, technical experts, and business stakeholders to improve processes and deliver world-class solutions to customers.
- Continuously expand professional development and business knowledge.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in a communications related field or related experience
- Technical writing or related experience (manufacturing experience preferred)
- Project management experience (preferred)
