Job summary:

Acrisure is seeking a Technical Underwriting Analyst to support the continued development and adoption of Vave's wholesale insurance platform. This role sits at the intersection of underwriting, wholesale distribution, insurance operations, product, and technology, using industry expertise to help improve the way partners interact with Vave's products and platform.

This individual will work closely with wholesale partners, underwriters, product teams, analytics, and technology teams to evaluate underwriting workflows, investigate complex business and platform issues, identify opportunities for improvement, and help translate insurance needs into practical solutions. A strong understanding of the wholesale and E&S insurance marketplace is important, including how MGAs, wholesalers, carriers, capacity providers, and insureds interact throughout the insurance lifecycle.

This role is well suited for someone from technical underwriting, underwriting operations, insurance product, or a similar wholesale insurance background who enjoys solving complex problems and improving how insurance business gets done. Deep software engineering experience is not required, but candidates should be comfortable working with technology, learning digital insurance platforms, and partnering with technical teams.

This is a remote position. Candidates should be comfortable working Central or Eastern Time business hours.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an insurance subject matter resource for the Vave platform, with a focus on wholesale and E&S underwriting workflows
  • Analyze existing underwriting and operational processes to identify inefficiencies, pain points, and opportunities for improvement
  • Partner with underwriting, product, analytics, and development teams to translate business needs into platform enhancements and practical solutions
  • Investigate complex platform, workflow, and insurance-related issues and coordinate resolution across internal teams
  • Develop a strong understanding of Vave's underwriting products, appetite, workflows, platform capabilities, and partner needs
  • Gather and evaluate feedback from wholesalers and other insurance partners to identify product and operational improvement opportunities
  • Support the development, testing, and implementation of platform enhancements and new capabilities
  • Evaluate how changes to products, underwriting workflows, or technology may impact brokers, underwriters, capacity partners, and other stakeholders
  • Support onboarding and adoption of Vave products and technology by providing insurance and workflow expertise
  • Analyze platform usage, underwriting activity, and operational trends to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and partner experience
  • Communicate complex insurance and technical concepts clearly to both business and technical audiences
  • Manage multiple initiatives, partner needs, and priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
Requirements:
  • Experience within wholesale insurance, excess and surplus lines, an MGA, insurance carrier, underwriting organization, or underwriting operations environment required
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance underwriting workflows and the roles of MGAs, wholesalers, brokers, carriers, capacity providers, and insureds required
  • Experience analyzing insurance processes, underwriting workflows, operational challenges, or insurance products and recommending improvements
  • Ability to understand complex insurance problems and translate business needs into clear requirements, recommendations, or solutions
  • Experience in technical underwriting, underwriting operations, insurance product, underwriting analysis, or a related function highly beneficial
  • Experience working with wholesale or E&S insurance products highly beneficial
  • Ability to work effectively across underwriting, operations, product, analytics, and technology teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues and identify root causes
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain insurance concepts to technical partners and technical concepts to insurance stakeholders
  • Experience with insurance portals, underwriting platforms, policy administration systems, or other insurance technology beneficial
  • Experience supporting technology implementations, product enhancements, workflow improvements, or user acceptance testing beneficial
  • Familiarity with APIs, SQL, data analysis, or other technical concepts beneficial but not required
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects, requests, and competing priorities
Education and licenses:
  • Bachelor's degree beneficial
  • Insurance designations, underwriting education, technical certifications, or additional industry training beneficial

Pay Details:

The base compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
