The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

The Technical Developer/Instructor will be responsible for engaging in various development and training activities with senior instructors, NPI engineers, manufacturing engineers and PSO team members. The developer/instructor is expected to master the technical know-how of the assigned tools, develop training material, create training plans, validate service documentation/procedures and deliver well-managed training to other instructors and field engineers.

Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Develop and deliver technical training on service, maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting.

  • Use the combination of product technical skills and training skills together to deliver high-quality content and service training to KLA instructors and field service engineers.

  • Participate in tool building, manufacturing, field support, upgrades, installs, and other technical activities to master the technical know-how on the assigned product. Maintain a high level of technical skills and stay up to date on new product changes and updates.

  • Independently conduct and lead the review meetings and discussions with subject matter experts to define milestones, deliverables, and training plans.

  • Lead the assigned training projects; conduct reviews with stakeholders; provide regular updates to the stakeholders and functional groups; assess risks and actions; assesses efforts, time and resource requirements; maintains action trackers and project documentation.

  • Review engineering documentation, procedures, and specifications. Capture technical information into training documents. Develop well-organized training content and multi-media most appropriate to the target audience and create appropriate certification plans.

  • Learn and use new software and tools to develop high-quality videos, remote training, web-based modules, augment reality models and simulations to deliver highly engaging learning experiences.

  • Follow and apply standard training design and development best practices, formats and templates.

  • Review and validate service procedures on the tool. Assess the need to update documentation. Monitor errors, mistakes, changes requested. Provide corrective feedback to technical writers and drive implementation of the changes in the documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An engineering degree in optical, mechanical, or electrical engineering

  • Minimum 3-5 years of in-depth technical experience on KLA reticle inspection equipment.

  • Preferred experience and certification on Rapid 5XX or Rapid 6xx or both products. Experience on other reticle inspection equipment backed by in-depth manufacturing or service experience will be considered.

  • Proven track record of supporting a range of install, service, tool building, manufacturing or technical support activities on KLA tools.

  • Prior experience in developing or conducting technical training, formally or informally on KLA or other semiconductor tools will be a plus.

  • Strong documentation skills and ability to capture the technical knowledge and discussions on paper to develop systematic training material.

  • Ability to decipher a range of technical sources like manufacturing or engineering documentation, procedures and specifications to develop highly organized training material. 

  • Ability to track tasks, actions and provide regular updates.

  • Ability to make decisions independently with minimal or no support from direct or indirect managers. Show independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for acquiring results.

  • Demonstrated working successfully with subject matter experts from various functional groups and ability to develop relationships and communication across cultures and geographies.

  • Demonstrated record of working efficiently and effectively in a matrix environment with multiple direct and indirect managers. Proven track record to drive alignment among multiple collaborators with conflicting requirements.

  • Consistent track record of handling sophisticated problems demanding higher-order critical thinking skills including analysis and evaluation of alternatives, solutions and approaches.

  • Highly detailed oriented as well as the ability to assess the big picture.

  • Demonstrate a very high level of motivation and willingness to take initiatives of his own in his previous roles.

  • Strong written and verbal English language skills and ability to communicate comfortably with international audience.

  • Able work in morning and afternoon shift and Travel to attend and conduct Training.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 0 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years; or equivalent work experience

Base Pay Range: $91,900.00 - $156,200.00 Annually
