Full Job Description
Technical Support Engineer/Technologist Reporting to the Manager-Engineering, the Technical Support Engineer / Technologist will be accountable for providing technical support to Clients, the Sales Team and Operations in job design, evaluation, and product application. Specifically, representing Sanjel to the client and positioning Sanjel Energy Services as a valued services provider, while ensuring the quality of the services provided meet company performance targets and customer/client expectations. This includes complying with all relevant company policy and regulations related to HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) and Quality and submission of all relevant paperwork. General Responsibilities: • A strong focus on safety is essential as well as adherence to our guiding principles of teamwork, integrity, service and excellence • Work directly with Operations to ensure the safe, efficient and successful execution of all jobs • Create proposals using appropriate templates (MS Excel) including selection of appropriate processes, fluids, materials and equipment required as well as preparation of efficient, safe and feasible work procedures • Design jobs using modeling software and outlining the selection of appropriate processes, fluids, materials and equipment required • Ensure the appropriate technical reviews occur in job designs and any other technical requests • Prepare cost estimate of jobs for Sales and Clients • Collect job performance data, feedback from Operations on job issues and assist in analyzing and reporting on these items to support improvements and develop best practices • Identify improvements of job designs, equipment, materials and/or processes associated with effective job completion • Lead investigation of job problems and implementation of improvements • Support the preparation and maintenance of documents (i.e., templates, databases, training information, procedures and presentations) relevant to the position and to the group • Meet regularly with other members of the Service Line to discuss and identify improvements to the organization and support activities and personnel development including visits to the field as required • Support technology development through participation in studies, job problem resolution, experiments and related reporting • Participate as an active member of the team in the continuous improvement process by reporting all unsafe or potentially hazardous situations through the existing reporting system • Complete special projects and other duties as required Qualifications: • Possess Engineering degree or technical diploma or equivalent training and/or validated skill set. Preference for: Mechanical, Petroleum, and Chemical • Eligible for registration as practicing member of APEGA or ASET • Minimum of three years of experience in service line or petroleum industry, preferably service company oriented, but experience in drilling, completions, production or reservoir or equivalent combination of education and experience • Proven knowledge of safety standards and requirements of complex oilfield service operations • Demonstrated knowledge of the latest technology related to product and business • Demonstrated self-motivation and ethical behavior including professionalism and respect • Ability to work independently and as a team player • Minimum of intermediate level using Excel and Microsoft BI Candidates who are motivated to develop their skills and advance their careers are strongly encouraged to apply.
